He needs balls in decent positions where he can work his magic. Difference today is of course, it's a lower stake game and a lower end team than Porto, but he's getting served. When Juve can get decent balls to him the end result is always the same. When they don't, he disappears, specially against low block teams.
I don't see that as a downside to his game at this kind of age. There was once a time in which he created attacking plays all by himself to serve others.

A Juve team that was actually comfortably winning the League and made 2/3 CL finals before Ronaldo came in.
Juve's mistake has been to not build the rest of the team and give Ronaldo the support he needs to win the CL. Though it's possible their budgets are a bit strained after everything they put into the Ronaldo package.
Hopefully Florentino will put both parties (Ronaldo and Juventus) out of their respective miseries without too much drama. A divorce is almost never an happy divorce, but it could well be amicable, and three years are enough.
