David Cameron 'to vote against fox hunting ban'

I was driving along the Chelsea embankment earlier this evening and nearly was involved in the mother of all car crashes because the car in front of me put on emergency break with no warning. I assumed a bicycle rider was involved but on closer inspection saw that ..... a fox had narrowly avoided getting run over and the cat (edit, I meant to write 'car'!) in front urgently braked to avoid it.

I dont really care one way or the other about fox hunting, but they do need to be controlled .... you cant have them roaming the central roads of London causing havoc like this.

Since the ban, have the no of foxes increased in the UK? I know that there are loads in my mothers garden and she lives in Suburban London. And now they are in Central London. Its a bloody joke.

Only three heads of Governments in the world have ever banned hunting. They are:

1. Adolf Hitler
2. Saddam Hussein
3. The Rt Hon Mr Anthony Blair MP

Im assuming you dont think foxes have freedom of speech? Thats abit fascist isn't it?!

That does show Hitler to have some form of moral compass. I don't know what your point is.

I thought his point was obvious: people who care about animals enjoy genocide.

On a related note I recently read about Hitler that his alleged vegetarianism is nothing more than a myth.

Er, i don’t think the hunt will be passing through Central London any time soon.

Easy on the generalisations.

If you "cannot imagine a less ethical way of consuming food than the industrialised slaughter of millions of conscious animal lifeforms every day, largely for the pleasure their flesh gives us", then I take it you don't eat it.

I do eat and enjoy meat, and because I'd rather be consistent in my hypocrisy, I am happy to let people who hunt get on with it.

Hm, I see no hypocrisy in that. I see some other things, but not hypocrisy. Can you even be a consistent hypocrit?

I have ethical doubts about eating meat, but bacon is too tasty.

That sounds more like weakness of will. Your pleasures weigh more heavily with you than your ethical convictions. Doesn't hypocrisy require some sort of masquerading? Nevermind, it was a verbal point rather than a moral one.

Tbh the tories can't do any worse than this current labour government! I think they will be a much improved government to the people we have got now.

Bet you read the sun. The Tories are saying everything and anything to please everyone. Being a bullshitter myself I know my own kind. Cameron is simply Tony Blair II, bullshitter with a caring smile.

I'd rather vote in feckin David Dickinson.

Old news, but I wasn't aware that the Countryside Alliance campaign group took the hunting ban to Strasbourg, claiming that it "breached their rights under the European Convention on Human Rights." Deluded feckwits. And yet another example of how the concept of human rights is losing its purpose and meaning.

They may share a media friendly quality, however let's judge by deeds here and i think Cameron stands well placed to better both Blair and Brown, not that that's difficult in some ways. Although the state of the nation's finances won't help at all in the short term.

Same coudl be said were it the Lib Dems however to a lesser extent.

Playin' hard

Makin' sure that he won't be the last
He's Misstra Know-It-All

Makes a deal
With a smile
Knowin' all the time that his lie's a mile

Makes sense really - the 'No' campaign for Alternative Vote, which Cameron supports, is claiming that the referendum is wasted time and money from the big issue, which is reducing the deficit.

It would be very hypocritical to state that electoral reform is a waste of time but overturning a hunting ban is not.

I think we have missed an important point in this thread. Bollocks to hunting with dogs, when are the government going to do something to curb the problems caused by feline motorists? It's political correctness gone mad. I bet he wasn't even a proper English cat either, likely just got off the ferry from bloody Poland or somewhere earlier that morning.

On a serious note, even before the ban, there weren't fox hunts in the city or suburbia. The toffs tallyhoed with their beagles way out in the countryside. Also, just about anything could run out into the road - a child, a dog or even a cat pedestrian.

I dont really care one way or the other about drunkard hunting, but they do need to be controlled .... you cant have them roaming the central roads of London causing havoc like this.
