David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

Hold on didn't Moyes just spend more than any other Sunderland manager in history to add to a squad of players that the previous managers managed to keep in the Premier League for the last few years in a row?

But because it's Moyes it's now being made out to be some sort of mission impossible for Sunderland avoid relegation. Feck sake when will people stop making excuses for this turnip and accept that maybe, just maybe he isn't actually that great of a manager.

Aye, he's brought in a load of his own players and spent close to £40m. http://www.transfermarkt.com/sunderland-afc/transfers/verein/289

Unlike a lot of other teams in and around the relegation zone, he has a proven goalscorer in Defoe at his disposal, so should survive the drop. If he sells him to West Ham, he's dead and buried.

Joint bottom with Swansea. I swear he's just waitng for his fat cheque when they eventually sack him.

I was very sympathetic towards Moyes, because I know that Sunderland does not have a good financial model.
But I was surprised that Moyes spent 40m pounds during the summer. Not only this, he actually spent half the money on a player who is guaranteed to be away for a month or two in Gabon for AFCON.

Sunderland also made a few bad deals. They bought Danny Graham for a lot of money, but they lost him on a free transfer and didn't play much at all. They also lost Italian national Giaccherini for 1.5m pounds. They loaned Jeremain Lens to Turkey, but I always thought that he is quite a useful player.

Oh Moysie!

(did he realise?)

Attitude problems, he even said this week that he hopes Sunderland get relegated.

"The first 20 minutes or so was really poor. All our own doing, terrible mistakes for all three goals.

"The players need to take responsibility and stop making individual mistakes, but I didn't think our overall performance was that bad.

"The fans left early because there is only one road out here, not just because of the result."

This x 1000.

There always seems to be some excuse ready for poor ol'Davey. I am so tired of hearing them and people just repeating them and buying them by default.

Big Sam had the very same squad with the exception of Dave's near £40m additions performing to a much better standard.

Truth is that Moyes had funds available, but he chose to splurge it on Donald Love, McNair and that guy with a weird name from Chelsea.

He is a total fraud, nothing more to it.

Sick and tired of the dour poodle. The sooner he fecks off from football the better.

Moyes must be finding it difficult to attract players to whatever club he's at.

I can't imagine there are too many players desperate to work under him.

Such a lovely chap. Really hard working honest grafter.

Only one road? This guy is so delusional, fans left during the first half. Of course it's never his fault though

Throwing his players under the bus again, how unexpected.

Honest and hard working. Really stands by his boys and weather the storm, each and every time.

How this fraud got a job beyond washing the kits at MUFC will never cease to amaze me.

At United he came out with this one

"I'm disappointed that we're not in a much stronger position. I'm disappointed with how we have played. I will ultimately take the rap for that, but what I will do is make it right. I'm going to get better players in"

The throwing his players under the bus stinks of self preservation, setting himself up for his next job interviews.

I hope this is your brilliant parody, and is not what he said after the game, right?

That's genuinely disgusting.

Some Sunderland fans are incredibly defensive regarding Moyes, reminds me of a few United supporters when he was here.

The fans left early because there is only one road out of here, not just because of the result. They actually leave when we are winning as well sometimes."

He actually did say this. Holy shit.

The psychological aspect of it is quite similar to a woman desperately defending her strongbow drinking and wife beater wearing abusive husband.

I think it is some sort of defence mechanism, just trying to cope.

You lot are surely taking the piss with that leaving early quote. Surely... :nervous:

Its quite bad Im not even sure.

I just visited the Sunderland forum. Seems it's true.

Im seeing it over twitter too. I need to see the video ffs

Also some fans pissed off hes not giving a chance to youth. I hear that he said that the people on the bench wouldnt have offered anything more than what was out there (when 3-0 down and playing shit).
Man management 101 damn

Apparently he was making a point to the board.
