David Moyes | West Ham in talks with him for managerial job

I wish I never joined redcafe when Moyes was appointed. I bought into the cut from the same cloth as Fergie BS. My username kills me.

Don't worry the mods can change it for you if you ask.

What they can't change is the fact Moyes is unfit to manage any team with real ambition.

At the moment Moyes is being comprehensively outshone by Mikey Phelan. It is insane that he still considers Man Utd his level. Sunderland will sink like a rock under that man (thanks be to God. Poznan performing prats!)

To be fair it was probably easy to get carried away. How can you look upon this behemoth of inspiration and avoid getting carried away?

He even got the mouse pad right.

The most miserable that office has ever looked. How times have changed:

It's really strange that you chose this nickname in April (!) - after the Fulham and Olympiakos games

Hopefully this abject performance will make him sign more of the guys we want to get rid of.

Nah we have a policy to only change names if they contain personal info.

to think fellaini was getting linked to these the poor bugger. Fellaini is far too good for Sunderland and I never thought I'd say that.

Fecking hell, Moyes had really shown us hasn't he? Gone from strength to strength after being unfairly sacked. Fair play to him.

As far as home debuts go, this couldn't have gone worse; losing to a newly promoted side. His failure at United might have ruined him as a manager.

He is done as PL manager imo, Sunderland have gone several seasons sacking the guy they started the season with he will be lucky to reach December as their manager. You don't get more damaged goods than that, needs to find a league 1 side that will allow him the time to reinvent himself imo.

Jose here, where he belongs and where he should have been 3 years ago...

Moyes back where he belongs....At the bottom, looking up the stars

The Universe is correcting itself

...and Pogba is now where he belongs. ;)

I cannot believe Moyes was chosen over Jose.
The difference in class between the 2 is so big, its like comparing mouse to an elephant.
What the devil was Fergie thinking?

Said it earlier. As much as I love Fergie and love the memories and moments his teams gave us, some of the decisions he made from 2008 onwards were mind boggling

The reaction on here based on a potential 2-0 loss! He'll be a very good manager for Sunderland.
He'll be sacked by January.

He's just a poor manager. He always was. Doing just about well enough (with an average league position of 8th) to not get sacked by Everton for a decade is not an achievement of any real note.

Did the fact we were about 7th not give some sort of indicator he wasn't all he was cracked up to be?

Some fans never use logic in their decision making.
There are fans on here who still believe Moyes was sacked too quickly.
There are fans who believe that LVG should've been given another year.
They believed Falcao would score a hat-trick towards the end of his time at MUFC, even though he could not score 1 goal or stay on his feet.
They believe that Jose is not good enough to manage us.
There are even some fans on here who have said (in the last few days) that we have not played well in our opening 2/3 games because our possession stats are low. :wenger: [some people never learn]

I would guess that these people also believe that they have won the Nigerian Lottery, because they received an email that they'd done so, even though they never actually bought a ticket

He's got a contract, mind. Should they sack him, it'll be their own fault for not letting him see out that contract, because what he's building is clearly with that contract in mind, even if it looks like he's dragging them down to new depths.

For his sake, I hope he's shed some of the self-delusion and manages to get Sunderland picking up points. If I were a Sunderland fan, I wouldn't hold out much hope though.

There's a difference. He made his profile while Moyes was still with us and while we have a player/manager I am one of those fans that try to support them for as long as possible. I couldn't stand the sight of LVG but supported him even through his last game. Once he was gone I was glad though.

Providing such support is important as there are players like Darren Fletcher, Fellaini etc who need some time.

This is Sunderland. They were worse under advocaat and first 6 months under Sam. I think he will be fine with their fans.

Are you trolling? Everton were relegation fodder. A consistent top 8 finish for them is an outstanding achievement. Compare current Everton to where they were when Moyes took them.
Don't think any Everton fans would describe Moyes' tenure as an outstanding achievement. Only an unambitious dullard like Moyes would describe his work as outstanding.

start of interview saying what a disgrace Sunderland keep sacking their managers
Also says "what didn't excite me about the Sunderland job was that they'd been at the bottom for so long", and that gave him "a decision to make". Hardly sounds like a person with confidence in his own abilities to get them moving up the table. I couldn't watch any more of that depressing man.

Not trolling. I genuinely consider him a poor manager. It is possible for incompetent people to make it high up in big organisations. I've worked with enough of them.

Do you know any Everton fans? They consider Moyes a bit of a joke and were amazed when United appointed him.

To be fair to him, he is stuck with a relegation squad unless they can make some moves before the end of the week. If they don't have the cash, he should start scouring the loan market pretty hard right now. An injury to Defoe could be catastrophic for them.
