Those were dark times indeed.
And it was during those dark times that I used to come on here, as a guest and share my sorrows.
Posters on other (non MUFC) forums were all saying that he should get time...another season maybe, before he is assessed. I was pulling my hair out to these types of comments and could not understand why any MUFC fan would have any faith in him. I felt like I was going mad.
I then came here and saw many other fans felt as I did and I felt huge relief that I was not the only one thinking this.
When he was first announced as the manager, I thought it was a joke, run by a few papers, but when I saw him (and not Jose) at Carrington, the realisation set in that we have made a huge gamble on a mid-table manager, to take over arguably the best manager in the World. It was doomed to fail...and it did.
He seems to have found his level now: Sunderland. Bottom of the table. Probably relegated and if he doesn't get fired, he'll be a Championship manager next season.
