I guess a full strength Portugal getting demolished by the Netherlands in a friendly before the WC was indicative of their level.
Now I can live the dream of a Messi and Ronaldo free World Cup.
To be fair, I think his "don't give a shit" attitude kind of helped the game. This game had potential for being a clusterfeck of cheating, rolling and diving, but he was so dismissive of any attempt at it that the players quickly stopped bothering doing it.

Uruguay shithouse themselves a place in the quarters after winning the shithouse derby. Both teams incredibly average as far as I’m concerned.
They are like the A Madrid of the international stage. They sit really deep and have a couple of top level attacker to nick the game for them. They will take some beating. Exactly the kind of side Mbappe and France will struggle against. I think Pogba's clever passes into the box will be key.
Almost every match in this tournament delivers on drama, excitement and guts. Other than Panama, every team goes out there and give their all.
Fantastic win from Uruguay! They were perfect: solid and focused at the back and dangerous upfront with Cavani and Suarez.
