Argentina played with a crazy high line and gave him loads of space. Uruguay play the opposite and Mbappe can disappear against deep compact defences.

Exactly, it will be similar to the encounters France had against low block teams and they looked clueless most of the time. Argentina is terrible defensively and they tried to bring their own game to France which backfired spectacularly as Mbappe enjoyed all the space in the world to run into. It will be completely different match up and anyone expecting France to cruise are in for a shock.
Did that Laxitive guy on Uruguay play as a LB today? Just checked and he played all his 34 matches for Genoa last season as a left sided midfielder.

He is a LM indeed but Uruguay are so defensive he is not being exposed too much, while offering nice passes going forward.
Giroud and Pogba will be their most important players in that game I feel. Giroud with his traditional number 9 attributes to win headers from crosses and to control Pogba's little chips into the box and to bring others in for a shot at goal.

As I said before, he was a left winger in youth setup, the Italians converted him into a left midfielder with defensive duties (i.e. typically a wingback with a back three) and Tabarez tried him out at LB at the China Cup and he has been doing exceptionally well defensively while being a credible outlet in transition.
I'm going to miss* Ronaldo looking up at the big screen to see himself over and over again.

In the unlikely event Sweden doesn't win the WC i'm going with Uruguay.
Argentina dont want to play like Uruguay, they both play with passion, Argentina dont have the organisation and defensive nous, but they produce much more attacking players. Argentina would like to have a proper system around their players and be a team, but not play like Uruguay. They play much more possession based football and less on counters.

Well I have no problem with either of them, but it’s a blessed relief they’ve both gone at the same time. This should put an end to the ridiculous pissing competition between their fanboys, though they’ll probably find a way to prolong it
