Day 2: Wales vs Switzerland | Denmark vs Finland | Belgium vs Russia

Extremely unpopular opinion time, I don't mind Savage on co comms. He is usually pretty accurate, especially versus his in studio stuff. Maybe the fresh air does him some good.

Im guessing you missed the post were I said I'm glad you guys aren't normally playing like this after someone mentioned it? I'm not anti-wales. Just found them boring today.

As for if I have a team to follow, that's a no.
Wouldn't be rooting for my own country if they somehow scraped into it either. Just never felt any pulls to any national team.
Adopt Finland (first time qualified)

Swiss sort of team who'll probably get a point off Italy.

Wales probably qualify if they beat Turkey so still in it massively but tbh any team in last 16 would love to play them.

It's gonna be a dogfight between Turkey, Wales and the Swiss for second place in this group.

Impossible to call that one.

Standards are through the floor when people are wanting Embolo and Zakaria
Does anyone actually want Embolo? Think most just agree he had a good game.

Wales played really negative. I don't think Switzerland are so good that you have to play like that.

Ward Man of the Match.

Decent draw for Wales, all things considered.

Embolo, James, Mbabu and Ward the stand outs for me.
Given possession, tactics (sic), performance, I think we'll happily take that. Switzerland should have kicked on at 1-0... they may regret that.

Page needs to think hard about Ramsey and Allen (Brooks and Ampadu.... even Colwill)

Did not expect a draw from Wales. Think the group is now open for all three and the 2 Turkey games will be interesting watches.

Swiss will obviously be unhappy with this result as anything less than a win vs Turkey would mean they eliminate the competition in GS, which will go down as underachievement considering their side and the group they were in

I was thinking Ramsey is only playing on past reputation. He was poor today.

My god. Wales are such an awful team to watch. Worse than watching United under Van Gaal and Mourinho. When you consider Dan James was your best player on the pitch...
The Swiss should've won comfortably.

Urghhh don't like that. Dangerous. Turkey won't be that bad again.
We've got 3 teams in top 20 rankings. We are too but we're still living on 2015-18.

Ironically, I think if Turkey are more adventurous than they were against Italy (surely cant be less?!), might help us. Today has shown if we have to sit and counter, it's hard work and unlikely to pay off

Funnily enough, they've got Albert Stuivenberg as assistant manager. LVGs assistant at United and Artetas now. Great football doesn't seem to follow him around...

They sure have better players than they show

A decent draw there for Wales, but probably didn't deserve it. I can't see them going through in this group. I just can't see how they're winning any game here

We're not boring by choice. We're boring because we're shit. It's pretty much Bale, Ramsey's ghost and nine championship level cloggers.

I'd be surprised if you're going to be blown away any more by other sides in the same boat, which is basically Finland, Scotland, and North Macedonia. And those teams don't have to play their games halfway to fecking China in 35 degree heat, either.

Good result. Swiss were a lot better but think they made some tactical errors trying to consolidate their lead, Embolo was causing real problems and the set piece defending was poor by Wales (wtf was up with Allen sitting on Embolo on corners...). Wales showed a lot more bravery after the 70th and the Swiss gave them too much time on the ball. The goal came from nothing really but when you have someone like Moore who is dangerous in those positions, you’re going to be playing with fire by adopting those deep stances and letting Wales knock it about in front of you. As I said pre game it’s why he’s in the team.

Connor Roberts is terrible.

He was poor today but he’s a good player. Playing out of position though completely negates his strengths, and highlights his weaknesses. It’s tricky with the makeup of the squad but ideally he’s always a wing back.
