Day 2: Wales vs Switzerland | Denmark vs Finland | Belgium vs Russia

Commentators saying that Eriksen is awake and stable now. All points to as good an ending as possible in these circumstances.

If UEFA are desperate to get something to broadcast after all that, give them the most memorably boring spectacle the Euros will have ever seen.

Pretty sure the decision will taken after consulting with both teams. If the players feel like playing the game will continue.

Questions still need to be asked. Players were rattled. An extremely congested season for them

There are some things you simply can't plan for and this one of those instances.

England cancel media presentation, will the Belgium game go ahead?

Lukaku will be very shaken when told of the news you'd imagine, Belgium got a few who played with him at Spurs aswell.

Because both players wouldn't really be in the mood to play immediately after seeing such thing happening in front of them ?
The mood to play? Now where do we draw the line? Someone collapses we abandon, but if someone suffers a double fracture broken leg, we are ok to continue?
Players are human, they aren’t robots. They’re all going to be shaken from what happened.
Plenty of matches have continued after players suffering very serious multiple fractures, are they not shaken in those cases?

Just a question - did he get covid sometime during the club season? If yes, I wonder if that could have had a bearing on what happened today.
That thought crossed my mind but wasn't sure if I should say it. I know of someone who got it and went to give plasma and it showed he had a slight heart problem.

We had the famous case here in Egypt of Mohammed Abd El-Wahab, who died of a sudden heart attack during training. I think he was a case of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Yes I remember that one. But how did he get through his career without doing medical tests? its not like it is difficult to detect HCM with simple tests.

Kudos to you and everyone who ever had to go through this. Was just telling my gf: I would never want to be in the situation to perform PCR. Horrible.

Training helps a lot in this case (I´m no professional but a member of the German Red Cross since my youth). You really just go into auto pilot there. It was actually the said phone that distracted me in the process and really brought the nervousness to the surface. Any criticism to the first responders here is a joke tbh. This was way harder for them here with thousands of people watching them at that place. Show some empathy please and don´t play arm chair medicals.

Unrelated but I always felt rushing players right after covid, knowing that it can impact the heart and lungs, was absolute madness.

The teams did well in this situation. Really proud of the Danish players for shielding Eriksen from the cameras as best they could.

They successfully revived him whats the problem? The medics involved did a good job. I'm not going to sit here and slate them they literally saved his life today.

It's not about this instance though. Physios should be able to assess the lack of pulse and start CPR I would imagine.

Because this is a life threatening condition, and not a fracture ? Someone could have died down there.

Piss off.

I don't know, how about when you watch a friend and teammate nearly die? Jesus christ!

i'm sure the footballer that Eriksen is , he would want the boys to play and finish the match. Yes, right now emotionally they are all properly drained but knowing he's stable and Ok will be a big boost for them.

Of course they did and should be applauded.

But that's not to say cpr couldn't have been started immediately by the 2 team medics that got there initially. It could save someone's else's life.

All in all, thank god he's ok.

Recently found out a close relative has that condition and I'm having a scan next week to see if I have it too. The odd thing is that he had the heart scan because of vision issues, so could have gone his whole life never knowing he had a heart condition if it wasn't for that.

Oh god, this has to be the worst post I've ever seen. Can you feel empathy?

Christ. We were all emotional watching it, never mind fecking being there.

Do you like to argue for the sake of arguing ffs?Unlike you, I am not going to pretend that we know the specifics here but comparing that to a bone fracture? Seriously, have a word with yourself.
