"The worst russian team since many years" they said. Imagine they would be good.

Imagine the scenes if Russia win on pens. Make it happen please. The celebrations will be crazy.

Fewer days now, the effect has got to be exponential.

The gap is exactly the same asthe 2nd round of England v Colombia to Quarters today and the gap between today and the semi on Wednesday.

Jesus, that atmosphere after Russian goal...

It sounded insane on TV, wonder what it was like at the actual place...?
Must have been amazing. Imagine the noise if they win this pen shoot out?!

Seriously, everyone talked them up after the group stages as the favorite to win the damn thing. Very underwhelming performances relative to the level of the opponents they had since then.
Yep. I’m not a fan of this Russia team but they at least show passion and vigour. Croatia look half arsed.

We played a low pressure game that lasted 90 minutes.

These guys played 120 minutes of nerve shredding high pressure followed by a penalty shootout.

Could be an advantage or it could not as it didn't seem to help Sweden much against England.

England pretty happy to see both teams running ragged.
Back to back penalties for both teams

Both England and Sweden played Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 'rest', Saturday game.
We played today. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 'rest', Wednesday game.

Same number of days between.

Disappointed in Croatia again.

Suppose only comfort is they still have Mandzukic and Perisic on pitch which they didn't have last shoot out so those 2 and Modric and Rakitic to take penalties.

Perisic was taken off after 60 minutes.

I expect England to beat either of these comfortably. What a shitfest.

Yep thought Croatia would be favourites v England but they've been mediocre again tonight and as predicted by one of their posters they're pretty poor v aerial balls.

Both teams look gassed so think England are favourites v whoever makes it.

When I go for a 15km run and I do it every 4 days, i'm generally ok in first run, tired 2nd run and struggling hugely on 3rd.

My point being that it wears the body down. It's a big advantage for England imo. Just had to look at tonight to see how much Croatia were struggling in extra time.

Wow. They will be mentally and physically exhausted by Wednesday. England has a massive advantage in the extra days' rest.
What extra days rest?

Both winning semi finalists that played yesterday are playing on tuesday. Both winning semi finalists that played today are playing wednesday. What extra days rest?

If England get to the final they'll have one less days rest but the semis are even Stephens.

Fair enough. My second point still stands imo. 3 days now is less than 3 days then due to more minutes in their legs.

I suspect there will be an advantage if they play against Croatia, not as much against Russia.
