Day 5: Sweden vs South Korea, Belgium vs Panama and Tunisia vs England (19H00)

Being static and terrible with their movement inside the penalty area - relying purely on their physique to get themselves ahead? Not working the channels nearly enough - combining with other players?

Terrible insight.

Are Panama players individually even Championsship quality? Can't believe how Hazard and De Bruyne can suck so much against them.

It's fun to watch how shite KDB's balls are as the automatisms from City make him think of runs that are the exact opposite of what is happening on the pitch.

Panama are very annoying with these fouls. They aren't allowing any football to be played.

Apart from them both being big, black footballers who play upfront.

How are they similar?

They both use their physicality as a weapon, both are powerful and clinical in the air. Both often look to bring other attackers into play by getting first to long balls and flicking them on.

Both have a questionable first touch and (although Lukaku has made good strides in this area this year) both have been criticised for their technique on the ball.

People are allowed to compare black players in the same way they compare white. Obviously it is stupid when people stereotype black players under certain criteria and it happens too much. But Benteke and Lukaku share enough characteristics as actual footballers that we don't have to assume the worst here.

Didn't manage to catch any of our games last season eh

Hahaha Panamanian defender with the name Fidel Escobar! As badass as it gets

This is such a lazy, inaccurate assessment. Impressively so.

Lukaku is terrible in the air, it's quite clearly one of his weaknesses - and one of the main criticisms why Mourinho elected to keep floating the long ball to him.
Benteke is a long ball player, Lukaku isn't.

Lukaku's strength is playing back to goal, and on the last man and using his power and pace to run behind the defence - Beneteke can't do that.

They're not similar players at all, and outside of physical comparisons, don't share much of any similarities.

Great goal from him just now too.
