Day 5: Sweden vs South Korea, Belgium vs Panama and Tunisia vs England (19H00)

The penalty reminded me a bit of Sol Campbell's sending off against us at Highbury in 2003 or something. Flapping his arms and hit Solskjær. A lot of people were up in arms about it, but if you insist on doing reverse flyes while fighting for the ball, you run the risk of being penalized for it.

BBC being a bit annoying, but... yeah that was definitely a penalty on Kane.

What is xG? X-Goals? Extreme Goals?
Expected goals... quantifying the probability of each shot being a goal/quality of chances. Good chance is a higher xG, shot from range or in traffic a lower xG obviously. Gives an idea of shot quality, but should never just be taken as be all and end all

Half time, first game, Lineker's already on the conspiracy train! What a fanny!

I expected it, but the biased commenting & punditry is annoying.

I expected nothing less. I enjoy watching the annoyance flow through them.

I was at the bar with an Englishman when the penalty was given and he raged at me when I laughed and announced ‘Classic England’.

Not a happy bunny! Funny though.

Is the rest of the world (non UK viewers) focusing on the Harry Kane rugby tackle non-penalty farce too?

Why are so many people complaining about the pundits? If you don't like it, mute it! Its so simple...

It’s embarrassing.

This is pathetic.

"Tunisia was absolutely not a penalty, Walker was just shielding the ball"

This is true, I enjoy this too

If I was an England fan, I'd be delighted with that performance. Bravest approach to a big game from an English team in a while. Problems at the back, no doubt but positive stuff nonetheless.

Folks need to calm down. England have been mostly fine. It's the best they've played in a major tournament for a while.

Silly silly foul, ok pen. But my personal take : how many times have we seen defenders stick their arms out their back to protect a ball going out to contain the attacker, it is basically what Walker did there, not expecting the attacker to try end squeeze past him only to get caught by his out-streched arm. It is ridiculous because the cross was over-hit and no way was the Tunisian attacker getting to it. A shame really. Not worth a penalty.

Took them twenty minutes to say it’s the best football in the tournament, now it’s FIFA against them.
Hope Tunisia get a VAR pen later on

Its not like Southgate was that good a defender himself, its probably asking too much for him to have an idea who is and isnt a top CB

Dier is a quality defender in a back 3, Walker's 2 main assets are his pace and power, need more of a brain for CB.
