Day 8: Japan vs. Greece

I'm really hoping that Honda manoeuvres his way around the Greek defence a lot better than he did in the first half.

I swear down
It really reminded me of Peter Mannion reading the comments on his blog on The Thick of It

"You've always got such a pained expression. Do you take it up the chutney?" Really? I mean, for God's sake..."

I bet Kagawa despises Manchester United.

Then he would have to have masochistic tendencies, because he appearantly still sees his future there. He likely would have had the opportunity to return to the club, where he spend his most successful years and could play in the system which suits him the most. Given how open and positively Dortmund´s officials and also some of the lead players (Hummels for example) spoke about a possible return of the Japanese I think they reached out to him (and United aswell) and he simply declined.

This is true Greece, hold out here for an extremely dull 0-0, then somehow win 1-0 against Ivory Coast in the last game, likely off a corner, their only shot on target all game, then somehow qualify for the next round.

Seems like you watched the Euros. I kinda like Greece that way. They know the're awful, they don't try to hide it.

Japan if you can't beat a 10 man Greek team then your as bad as they are. Pull yourselves together and get the goals in.

Greeks are true warriors. Hardest team to break down.

Yeah, and people wonder why he didn't start tonight.

To be fair, just from my impression, that's still not as many times as Messi against Bosnia ;) The game against Ivory Coast really wasn't his fault, every japanese player was playing below average that day. If he gets the support he can always be the difference maker.

Karagounis is the guy who runs over to the ref every fecking decision isn't he? What a horrible little cretin. Expending all his energy too.

Greece are tedious as feck to watch but damn they're hard to break down.

Where has the attacking, cohesive football from Japan disappeared to?

The ref has been awful this half. Greece have had everything, then they take 2 minutes to take every break in play. Brutal match.

Leave it! And true but still, 16 times is a lot.
