Why when their homes are "up for sale" do they always shoot a empty house? Where's all his furniture?

Anyway, we should actually just offer him to Barca in January . Feck Madrid.

Pay up, give us a marquee (no, not a tent!) or shut up/.

DDG is irritating me now. The article makes a good point, if it's true that he's agreed personal terms with Madrid, then he should just ask us to leave. feck staying quiet and looking respectable, as it's not really respectable agreeing terms with another club in the first place.

Grow a pair and just say. Let him join that circus.

I really hope we are. But while I see all this talk of "De Gea + £35m for Ramos", I am not convinced. If that deal went through we'd still have been mugged IMO.
Would Madrid fans be happy with that deal though? I suspect not, Ramos is a club legend and they want to keep him.

That was my first instinct too but you can't ignore the fact Madrid can and will have De Gea for free next summer, if nothing happens this time round. That's got to take a massive chunk off whatever fee we think we can get for him. We'd still be left with paying 50m+ for a central defender, mind you. Which is crazy money,

Maybe youre right. But if you are itll end up being one where both Madrid fans and I am disappointed. I cant say United fans generally because there seems to be a great deal of enthusiasm for Ramos on here, enough to compensate for the loss of De Gea. It wont make me feel any better about it though.

Maybe De Gea + £15m or £20m for Ramos, I could be satisfied with. Not overjoyed, but satisfied. At the end of the day theyll be getting a keeper for the next 10 years, we'll be getting a defender who will probably be at his peak for another 2 or 3. I dont see why we need to throw in such a massive sweetener.

I keep saying it, we should just tell them to piss off and let De Gea run down his contract if they arent willing to shell out serious money for him.

I couldnt care less. For the amount they are offering, sod it. If we can spend £6m plus astronomical wages for a year of Falcao, I dont see why we cant take a loss of a very negligible amount (what Madrid are offering) + quite modest wages for a year of De Gea.

Crazy money (maybe not this crazy, but he has a 200m or something else as fanciful as a buyout clause) is what we will have to pay for a CB, this one or another of his ilk. They are in short supply and in high demand. The De Gea factor skews this deal, but we wont get that much for him in a cash deal I reckon.

Yeah, agreed. If we get a great player I really don't care about the money. We'll only feel like mugs if he's a flop. I wish I had a bit more faith in him being a definite success though. My opinion is probably coloured by one too many podcasts of Ken Early waxing lyrical about his brainlessness.

feck the prick off now I've had enough. I was in the camp of believing he is doing the right thing by keeping quiet but I've changed to the "feck HIM OFF!" camp now.

Him giving a statement on his imminent departure to his homeland and his gratefulness to United fans isn't too much to ask for. I can't believe Mendes, being his agent, has played this one out in such a way. He supposedly wanted Ronaldo to stay at United and has a great relationship with the club. He's done himself no favours here except making his client look a cnut.

He's not been sold yet - nor has it seems the clubs have come to any agreemend over a fee, so if he was to say that now, it would be immensly disrespectful to United.

Why are there no Mancunian girls getting into relationships with international footballers and then telling them they have to come and live in Manchester?

And should the club be looking to invest £20m or so in some kind of WAG Academy, to train Mancunian ladies in the art of seduction and how to convince footballers to come and live in the North West? Would surely pay for itself pretty quickly. And could pave the way for some commercial deals with sanitary products providers or the like.

He doesn't need to come out and coming out and asking for a transfer would weaken our hand.
Be grateful that hes helping us get a decent deal for him despite the lack of time on his contract.

(not grateful to de gea necessarily but grateful for the situation, better to have real having fights in the papers than us)

It's ridiculous for footballers to have girlfriends?

No, the over the top influence that papers and fans speculate they have on footballers career decisions. Im tired of hearing 'his girlfriend lives in Madrid so it makes sense for him' etc. She's not even his wife. If these women had so much control over where their men played then a lot of these players wouldn't get anywhere in their careers. Its overstated

His family are there too.
'Home' is always going to provide some attraction. I don't really hold a grudge over it, his reasons are pretty fair and reasonable.

That doesn't really matter - they've been together for years.

She lives in Madrid - I imagine it's very difficult to live in a different country to the woman you love. So yes, where as in some cases it's probably overstated, I think it's clearly a huge factor here.

Are you arguing he may not go back to Madrid after all?
Or are you saying his inevitable move back to Madrid is nothing to do with his girlfriend living there?

Every man and his dog knows he's off to Madrid. Even my sociopathic boss who detests football mentioned it.
If De Gea wanted us to get a good price he would've signed a new contract like Ronaldo did.

But he hasn't made an official transfer request which would increase pressure on us to sell him.
The ball is in Real's court and i'd rather it stayed there is all im saying.

Didn't Ronaldo sign a new contract the Summer before he left?

Makes no sense for De Gea to sign a new contract with us, the situation he's in. Say he did, then we said, fine Madrid, give us £50 mil, and they turn around and so no, £20m take it or leave it... then DDG will be stuck with us for another 3 or 4 years, which isn't what he wants to do.

And quite possibly here in lies the problem I would imagine Mendes having a relationship with both clubs after the whole ronaldo deal was told very early on that Real would not be held to ransom in the same way they were with Ronaldo signing the contract and could well have told mendes to inform his client that if he wants the move to Real that he does not sign a long term deal with us (may have been said for ALL future transactions).

F**k Mendes. Seriously, if there's anything to be taken away from our transfer dealings over the past decade is that Jorge Mendes can f**king do one.

Get him to hand in a transfer request or tell him he's not leaving.

We need Louise Cliffe on the job.

Do you lose out on potential money if you hand in a transfer request?

Is that why so few players seem willing to do that these days?

Might be. Something called loyalty bonuses. It'll be a joke if he gets that, what with him reportedly having agreed a deal with Madrid.

Starting to dislike the lad now.
It doesn't go down well does it.

I am of the opinion that he has made it clear that he is not signing a new contract as he would like to go back to Madrid. I can live with that. RM and Mendes being the cnuts they are, are putting him in a difficult position, whilst also doing their usual of taking United to the cleaners. Probably trying to prove a point of we are bigger than you. For a small fee, I side on the 'take a hit', make him see out his contract and then kiss good bye.

As usual, Ramos will stay having played the United card OR if he really has had enough he will come with a huge price tag. I personally would ignore all players at RM. There are a few capable players that are younger and better value for money.

DDG needs to grow a set of balls and put RM in their place, tell them that if they want him they must bid for him by next week, else wait another year. I always believe United have the power in this case. We do not have to sell for shite money, so play hard ball. DDG will not be unprofessional, and if anything he will be p*ssed at RM for not moving for him. When you think what RM paid for Bale with 2 years left on his contract, the 1 year left should be irrelevant, pay what he is worth.

With the amount of money being quoted around I'd say no thanks, pay his wages for a year and then let him leave on a free.
