I love that we are not letting Real have their way, LVG is so calm and calculated about situations it is unbelievable. I dare to say that SAF wouldn't even have had this amount of bottle. Our finances are on the up and although letting him leave on a free rather than collecting £20 odd million for him is not the best situation at least it puts us in a place to find another replacement in a years time, as I do not believe we would have scouted a keeper this year in the hope that DDG would resign with us. Play him for another season maybe he will have a change of heart and Real could even have a transfer ban next year so that would be even more of reason to re sign with us.

Fergie would have strangled him till he agreed to sign the new contract, two seasons ago!

Another start of the week and I am waiting for De Gea to pick a side. He is still setting pretty on the wall and has not jumped on to either side.

I wish we could pass a message to Real

25M if you sign him before 01-Jul
35M after that..
50M on the last day..

What? Real would be happy with that. 25 mil before first July? For what good reason? It should be 35 straight or no deal!

Yeah, the same Fergie who managed the whole Rooney situation fantastically. Obviously a guy who has managed some of the biggest names in our history and managed to convince Ronaldo to stay with us for a year while signing a new contract and making Real pay up a world record amount would not have the "bottle". Some of you lot need to get your heads out of LVG's arse.

The same SAF who let Pogba leave in on a free, the same SAF who said he wouldn't sell R. Madrid a virus and sells them Ronaldo the next year. My head is not in LVG's arse, I'm just sayin when it comes to us selling our players we are usually push overs, and SAF's transfer decisions in his last few seasons were not the greatest.

Let Pogba leave on a free? The guy was offered a contract and didn't sign it. Just like DDG. SAF sold them Ronaldo but made sure he signed a contract with us and we received a world record offer for him from RM. Tell me again how much are RM offering us for DDG?

His transfers of incoming players may have been questionable the last few years of his reign but to label him as having no bottle is mad.

Best we stand firm on 35m, at the same time keep offering him a new contract and maybe adding a 50m release clause to it. If he refuse to sign, fine then, we still got one year with him on low salary (would save us 5-6m a year)

Where did I say he had no bottle?

Madrid's marquee signing might be Dave this summer and Perez will want to make the fans happy after sacking Carlos so my bet is they will pay what ever we ask for once its reasonable (£35m is reasonable due to the contract imo)

WTF are Marca on about?

LVG is "Alway Negative" because he's not hapilly helping them out with their desire to buy DDG?:wenger::lol:

I hope the line that "the club is insistent the 24-year-old will not leave unless Real Madrid pay a world record £33m fee for a goalkeeper" is true. That is exactly how we should be playing this situation.

It was 4 years ago to this day that we confirmed the signing of a skinny 20 year old goalkeeper.

Don't go David :(

the first pre season game in the states is 18th july. they would be flying out a good few days before that, so not long to sort out if he is boarding the plane

I wonder what his thoughts are on the Ramos thing.

It's clear there's a few unhappy players in the Madrid squad, if rumours are to be believed. We take their best defender, and probably who would of been there captain next year.

A team managed by a manager who's destined to fail (he will last two seasons at the very maximum), or stay here where it's clear we are going to spend big and become a force again.

I still think he'll go but it'd be really interesting to hear his thoughts.

Things are sluggish on the transfer market right now. Expect it to kick off on the 1st July or so. Might know more soon enough. Hope we sell him for more than £35m if we have to sell him at all.
That is something I have pointed out before. The whole market is quite slow right now. Almost like everyone is waiting for one move that will set everything off!

He's probably not thinking. Reckon he's on the phone to Jorge Mendes asking him to sort it out:D
They both miscalculated and felt that United would roll over and let them do as they wanted. Reckon he's panicking and his missus bitching at his arse right now:D

He might also realize that players will come and go no matter what club he is at. One player might get sick of being at s club while another loves it there.

It's got to be on his mind. I think his main motive is to move to Madrid, the doubts have got to be there though about what his career will be like at that circus.

IF Ramos comes to us DDG won't have any room for mistakes (well not that you have much room for mistakes anyway at RM). Ramos is a Bernabeu favourite and the loss of Ramos will be much bigger than the gain of DDG (in the eyes of RM fans).

Spanish newspaper Sport on Monday say that Louis van Gaal is 'the main problem' stopping Real Madrid from signing David de Gea as quickly and easily as they'd have wanted to. It's him insisting on a huge fee and that the club won't sell unless they get it, and Sport say he's also insisting on getting a replacement before sanctioning any deal. Van Gaal is said to have asked how Madrid can justify requesting €75m for Angel Di Maria and €90 for Sergio Ramos and then not be prepared to part with €40m for De Gea.
