It really is going to be a strange time for the next one month but he has put himself in this situation and he deserves this shit.
Yeah this is like the Transfer Window Final, where we're playing against the current champions who have won it for the past 20 years straight, and we've been doing an Arsenal getting knocked out in the round of 16 every year since records began. We've finally got a CEO who is as concerned about the stature of the club, as making the books balance, and a manager who simply doesn't give a rat's ass about etiquette.Woody and LVG are a badass team!I'm glad we are finally sticking it up to Real
The Mirror saying that he wants to leave this week, because he is embarrassed to see the people at Carrington.

What are they basing that on? There's no quotes from anyone. Sounds like column-filler because the De Gea situation has been quiet. And it's the Mirror, which is barely a step up from the Daily Star.
He did the same for Atletico did he not? Will the United fans get an open letter from DDG like Cech did for the Chelsea fans? What would the reaction be or will be just get swatted aside in his procession to Real?
Depends on what terms he left Atletico doesn't it?He did the same for Atletico did he not?
there have been so many times that lvg to stress that he doesn't talk about money. there is no way that he would be the one to decide the fees on ddg.
Above all he did it because his new contract gave him better wages. DDG is just much calmer about everything. Things like if he spends next year at RM or United and if he earns a few million less for a couple of years or not or if he moves to Madrid despite being an Atletico kid don't seem to bother him much.I know Ronaldo signed a new contract with us on the understanding that we would still allow him to leave, having extracted the best possible price for him. But is that normal behaviour? I found it extraordinary at the time, and if I were to be cynical I would say it might have something to do with his own desire to move for a record breaking fee, safe in the knowledge that Real WOULD pay up for him. I am not entirely cynical, I believe he also did it because it was in Manchester United's interests. If he had let his contract run down he could have pocketed a proportion of the transfer fee in wages and made himself a lot of money. But still, it is easier to do something when interests align, rather than acting out of pure altruism.
I am asking this because a few people have suggested De Gea should not have spoken to Madrid until he'd signed a new contract with us, with a similar agreement in place. Its a nice idea, but, again, is that the norm? It seems like an illogical approach to me. I dont personally have any issue with De Gea letting his contract run down, just like I dont have any problem with us forcing him to see that same contract out - and I believe both sides (us and the player, not Madrid) would be professional if it came to that, he would give his all and would not be unduly miserable. After all, he can console himself that, as a free agent, he will be able to negotiate himself a very nice salary indeed.

No doubt he wanted to go. Just think SAF sat him down and told him what was what and Ronaldo was open to what SAF suggested. Because it made sense to him but also because SAF convinced him it was the "right thing to do" as far as the club that had nurtured him was concerned. Not sure about that. he would have been gone the previous summer had Madrid not been so arrogant. He was buttered up with better wages but still got stroppy that season and came out with the daft slave comment
Open letter from DDG,now that would be funny...
"Thanks for being my stepping stone to Real, I was always going to end up there. K bye."Will the United fans get an open letter from DDG like Cech did for the Chelsea fans? What would the reaction be or will be just get swatted aside in his procession to Real?
Everytime I try to put myself in his shoes, i cant imagine why I would want to go to Madrid.
quote from @DesiBD in this thread for deeper exchange
Seriously though, why not speak to someone at the club or get your agent or another party to do. Guy just assumed we'd sell him with no problems![]()
let's see if he had the balls to pull a SuarezWell, why would he want to go to Madrid with no shoes?
If that's true, it would be very amusing for the other players. "Oh, Hi Dave, what are you doing here?"
Woody should make an example out of him. Has to do the fitness training, but then sits out of anything technical. Or made sleep in the same room as Jones as tour.
I hate it when a player who I like leaves on bad terms. Unfortunately he seems to type who can be manipulated easily, by Madrid, by his agent and likely by his girlfriend. If he doesn't put a transfer request in the loyalty bonus will come in handy for her singing lessons.

I think his parents were quite happy for him to stay with us as well. IT'S ALL THE GIRLFRIENDS FAULT.A few months ago, I read that Mendes advised him to stay at least 2 more years, so for once he might be innocent.
The pure traumatic experiences from that might leave a permanent scar. Imagine DDG doing Jonesy faces everytime he makes a save or do anything really.Woody should make an example out of him.
