So lookinng at the business we have been doing and the way it has been done, do you guys think that we would have not got a replacemet for De Gea before the pre-season?

Can he leave? Yes. Will he leave. I doubt it!

Real Madrid and Perez also have to consider the financial implications of the Bernabeu's planned £330 million renovation.

That alone should put a dent in their transfer plans for a couple of seasons at the very least.
That's one of the reason. The most important reason though is that the keeper doesn't sell enough shirts and usually isn't a superstar like attacking galactico signings. Perez sold Makelele for being too ugly, he's not going to suddenly spend a lot of money for those not important position.

On the other side, they have yet to sign a Galactico this season, so maybe there are some financial troubles (other than the stadium).

At least this has been getting much less attention in the media lately while United/our new signings have made all the headlines. Good!

Woody is doing a Perez turning United into a galactico circus. If you lot start speaking Spanish, DDG's bird might be convinced in joining him in el Manchester.

What's RedCafe in Spanish?

Doubt that,can imagine that conversation:
DDG: Love,i want to stay here and become a legend, cant you just move here with me,you can continue to work on your music here also?
No talent: Awww, honey boo boo,you know all my life and work are in Madrid, this talentless to reach stars,i need to stay here. Besides, you are just a footballer, you can kick that stupid ball anywhere.

Nothing another dodgy loan wouldn't sort out.

There just arent any potential galacticos out there at the moment. Sterling isnt big enough outside England, Reus re-signed with Dortmund and Pogba is scaring everyone away with his attitude. De Gea is just a goalkeeper in that world.

Wonder with all these signings you guys are making - he might consider staying more...

^ Was thinking the same. With the mess at Madrid, and the team we're building, could he change his mind and sign on?

This one will drag out a bit but eventually I can see Madrid giving in and meeting our asking price.

Not worried about his performances if we play hardball and don't let him go this year, Euro 2016 are up ahead and thus he'll have to perform unless he wants to be replaced by some random Spanish goalkeeper.

I feel the same about it dragging out till Madrid finally announce him.

However... Just imagine our side with him, a new CB a backup striker for Rooney and our new midfield. Could become the best in Europe again!

I will be surprised if Real has not already done the deal in private with DDG. To unceremoniously kick out Casillas, they would/should have a strong reason.. Not "We are in the process of bidding"

The reshaping of our team must go some way to convincing him to stay.

Don't go Dave

I felt a bit sorry for him until the whole "Porto are a third rate team" and "Iker should go anywhere he likes"....this is a keeper who's been average at best for the last 3-4 years. Its good that he's managed to escape the Madrid circus but eating a bit of humble pie would do him a world of good too.

He has been average compared to the absolute best and his old self, otherwise he is a top goalkeeper.

A top keeper who's not too good for the likes of Porto. He's been treated poorly but he should be realistic about his level now too. He's no longer the Casillas who should expect to walk into any club as the default no.1 pick.

Porto is a good side, the comments from his parents are condescending but it's true that he could play for a 'bigger' club, in a bigger league. But he should be proud to play for Porto.

I think the Casillas has been properly marginalised now, probably no turning back. That being the case I see Madrid coming back with a huge offer to sign him. Perez doesn't seem like the sort who likes to be embarrased, and I don't think he wants to start the season without either Casillas or De Gea.

Until and unless that happens, I'm otherwise perfectly happy with De Gea seeing out his contract. This season is a big one for us, and having possibly the best keeper in the world in our team is worth more than the 20+ million that Madrid seems willing to offer.

our hard stance on the ddg saga do help us signing players with reasonable fees. everyone now is knowing they days of us doing stupid business gone

Out of everything - Madrid and their fans (not all of them, but certainly a vocal minority at least) treatment of Casillas of late has made me dislike them more than any of their transfer dealings/other dickish stuff...

Think I'm going to be the first person to change my vote from a 'no' to a 'yes'

Our new signings are making me change my mind about De Gea, We should keep him unless Madrid make a stupid offer. I want to see what we can achieve with the current roster.

It will be like a new signing if he stays! After that, it will be funny if Valdes is given chance, cements his place and De Gea has to fight to get back in first team. With Euros in 2016, he will want to play as much as he can and then we can use that (first team spot) to get him sign a contract. He gets paid more for the year, gets transfer next season and we get transfer fee next season. Everyone wins.

The 'De Gea chants' at Danilo's signing was proper dickish too. TBH I think we've played the situation absolutely beautifully, and Madrid have shot themselves in the foot by letting Casillas go.

Puts us in a position where we can say "Give us what we want, or f**k off".

Correct.

Dream-like scenario:

De Gea stays with us and enjoys an incredible season as our team resurges to the pinnacle of European football with our new acquisitions. Madrid on the other hand self-implode as a civil war enrupts between the players, Perez and the fans, with the club finishing outside the top 3. This prompts De Gea to reconsider his aspirations of joining the circus and instead signs a new shiny contract with us

A man can dream, right?

He'll be signing with Madrid halfway through the season though...

Getting him to sign a contract now would be the ideal solution

Add to that his girlfriend and him split up because his long distance relationship doesn't work. Then Woodward plays a blinder in setting DDG up with Fiz from Coronation St who is adamant he should stay in Manchester. He goes on to sign a 10 year contract with us as his love for Fiz is so strong.

The comments by Marca that DDG wanted to sign a new contract earlier in the year but LVG didn't want to offer him one are such obvious bollocks it's hilarious. They're such a bunch of childish twats. God I would love to play Real in the CL this year with the team we are assembling - would be so sweet to knock them out.

And then one day he's warming up and gets injured and with all our other keepers out, LVG points up to me in the stand and brings me on, I'm insanely good and then I get a ten year deal and sleep with models and get millions.
