That's one of the stupidest claims I've ever heard, even from Balague. I'd imagine even the Glazers would overrule him on that.

Glad it looks like it is finally coming to end. Never saw him staying on for another season.

This one hurts more than Ronaldo, we won't be finding a like for like replacement for a long time.

Atleast with Ronaldo we knew it was coming, DDG loved playing here and what a keeper we wouldn't be in the champions league if we didn't have him last season. And if what Ballague said is true, well nothing more to say.

People who call the beautiful game soccer?
Absolutely.. they may not understand every aspect of the fine game, but even they should understand how DDG saved us so many points and could even have kept us up during Moyes' reign.

Now I read that the Navas deal is being finalised and will be for between 12 and 15m €.

So that would be DDG for 18m and Navas.

Everyone still please with our "haul"?

Shame to see DDG leave and not sure if I wish him well either.

Atletico fans might be mad now.

Hope he flops. Not even assed that I'm being bitter, hope Barca piss all over Real in the league again.

We dropped another ball by not signing him to a contract. Good riddance now, I hope he wins feck all in Madrid.

How did we let it get to this situation? Why hadn't we re-signed him long ago?

Quite. We should just keep our best players on 5 year deals constantly to take them to 32 as long as they are performing....It's what I do on FM. New contracts every other year!

Goodbye Dave, all the best. Just be prepared to get booed by the Madrid fans as soon as you feck up once.

That's a good deal all things considered; at least the best I can remember for a player in the last year of his contract. Not sure why people think it's embarrassing/we're a joke?

Part of me wishes him ill, but it's just bitterness in the realisation of the fact we're losing a world class goalkeeper to the rivals of his boyhood club, after both United and Atletico got him where he is right now. Can't exactly say I wish him well, I'd actually love for him to have a shit season and get replaced by a new shiny plaything by Madrid next year. But I nonetheless thank David for everything he's done.

The silver lining is no more DE DONUT shit from the Mirror...

I'm still gutted. Real Madrid run off with yet another top talent.

He's going to be the best keeper in the world for many years :(
