My apologies. I'm too annoyed to argue mate

Am i the only one thinking we came out of this well considering everything?
Well money wise we did do well, but is it worth it considering we are getting the replacement after the season has started?Am i the only one thinking we came out of this well considering everything?
I hope he absolutely fecking fails at Madrid.
Nobody can deny that he has proper fecked us over after we stood by him through those difficult early months of his time with us.
Refusing to sign a contract extension really put the club in such a difficult position.
At least Ronaldo and even fecking Suarez had the decency to ensure that the selling club didn't get fecked over with a transfer fee.
I hope he rots over there.

We basically got 25M€ + a player that didn't really want to join, that isn't that good anyway. I don't see how this is a good deal, no matter how you look at it.

No you're not. Don't think we could have done more. If we'd sold him for that insulting offer they first made it would have been worse, as we would have been raped on the fee for a new goalkeeper. This way a bit of cash and a reasonably priced keeper. Don't know what else we could have done given the situation.Am i the only one thinking we came out of this well considering everything?
Hope he does well there - in a 'never actually wins anything and has error strewn performances if he ever plays us' way. Well enough to cement his place as their undroppable first choice and the same for Spain, anyway.
He's been brilliant for us, through a difficult period. Also think he seems a nice enough bloke and don't get any of the criticism from our fans.
Ya,I do agree we did get a good deal.. But the fact it is late in the transfer window just dampens my mood.. Surely Navas would need atleast a month to settle down..I was under the impression that madrid didn't offer anything remotely acceptable before today, 40m euros is a record for players with one year left.
Navas also is a very good keeper.
This.
Seriously, feck off. The point is obviously he did not leave the club holding on with one year left on his contract. Not seeing that is just being dense, intentionally or not.
Perhaps. It's certainly a massively frustrating loss and it being the same team who previously nicked our best player makes it hurt a bit more, to some.I think there's probably a lot of "he could have been a United great" thinking going on. Unfortunately it's not worked out that way, but £29mil for a *keeper* with one year left on his contract is a very good deal indeed.
You are too fecking stupid to reason with. He didn't leave with one year left on his contract because we sold him before he reached that point. I'm done here.This.

DDG would have been an extremely stupid man to sign a new contract right before trying to push for a move to a new club. Don't think he handled the situation badly at all, especially if you compare this transfer saga to, say, the Sterling one.
Glad it's finally settled.

Be fine, he'll be out of the door to Atletico next summer anyway. It's Mata I feel sorry for in all this.

29m plus Navas? We've done well there, but it still doesn't stop me feeling gutted. Hope the boos aren't too loud for you, llama faced prick.
His blog next week will be really emotional. It's Mata I feel sorry for in all this.
They had no interest in leaving at the time- there was no serious interest in either of them! Once a player wants to leave and a club wants to sign him, why would the player sign a new contract, thus making it more difficult for them to leave? Players are not altruistic- they have to look out for their own interests too. That's rich, coming from someone who evidently thinks that a player who wants to leave should only be given credit for signing a new contract if it occurs no more than one calendar year from when he leaves.
Looking forward to how you're going to argue that Suarez also didn't sign a contract a year before leaving. Lest you forget the original context:
If that's the fee then yep, we've done well. Other sources had it at around €18m + Navas though, which is less good.

Pretty much what happens in real life.Quite. We should just keep our best players on 5 year deals constantly to take them to 32 as long as they are performing....It's what I do on FM. New contracts every other year!

The player is his last year was a big advantage, then I think that Van Gaal provoked the transfer leaving him out of the team. What GK you want now?
