In that case I guess that he would receive Madrid 10m€ compensation, although in theory that is not legal. I think that he will renew to calm the things with fans and Van Gaal.
I can´t see too much punishment for Florentino in Madrid. He managed(accidentally) to save money and keep the goalkeeper that Bernabeu wanted. People will forget about all this as soon as the next soap opera starts (Bale,Isco, Rafa,Iker in Porto..). I can´t speak about other Madrid fans but I wouldn´t chant his name. Madrid only have themselves to blame. They knew early on we valued DDG at 30-35mil, and wanted either Navas or Ramos in the deal, but they were so determined to show the world that they can get this deal sorted out completely on their own terms. Well that's too bad. It was well within their means to get this sorted a month ago, once the Ramos issue was put to bed. I can't even believe that anyone is trying to lay blame on the selling club.

I just have to laugh at the situation. No idea who actually dithered, but you have to laugh when the longest running transfer saga of the window, only has actual bids placed on deadline day and then they can't submit the paperwork in time.
