Evidence of Thiago and Vidal "botched" dealings?

Once again, Madrid had three months to bid for De Gea. The decision to do so was made at lunchtime, a matter of hours before the window closed. Incompetence is clear as day even for the least objective observer.

Tbf fair to Vato, that was probably more arrogance than incompetence on their part.

Nah, I have the feeling both parties were playing a game of bluffpoker until it was too late to get it done.

Pretty much exactly what happened. The actual details of who delayed what on the day don't really matter as it should never have been left that late in the first place.

Of course given you guys were the ones who wanted the deal done you'd think you'd have put a bit more effort in. The onus was really on you guys to do the running here....

Yeah, the only one you can name is incidentally with United aswell. You guys know well that we don't mess around transfer wise. We pay up and get deals done quickly, not much faffing about.
Well you named Vidal when we ended up not persuing him amid concerns about his knee.
God knows what happened with Pedro. Apparently we weren't convinced about his pace in relation to our needs which would explain the Martial signing.
Apparently Giggs advised against the Thiago deal as he wasn't a 'United player.' Besides he would have turned down every other club in the world when Pep came calling.
Literally the exact same situation we could point at is Contreao, deadline day bid, club not wanting him to leave etc.
The fact United were willing to go to FIFA over this, backed by the FA and evidence of us elling the truth would lean any neutral observer to our side.

If it's true that United weren't open for negotiations until yesterday morning, we just couldn't. A lot of mud slinging from both sides but I bet the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Coentrao was two transfers ballsed up at the last minute. Siqueira was supposed to come in as well.

DDG will play alright, we have a keeper with the reflexes of a wheelie bin at the moment so we have no choice, I also maybe stupidly think he might sign a new deal, maybe one with a buy out clause but a new deal all same.

I have no idea who is to blame tbh, I have deep rooted hope that we deliberately held up the deal on purpose, and gave you guys no chance of completing it as a lesson for been so dam arrogant, but I doubt it tbh, I'd row in with the view that it was a Perez mess up, and I hope DDG finally sees he's better off where he is.

On a side note there is absolutely zero chance DDG will get booed when he returns, he will get cheered to rafters and his name chanted, doubt if the roles were reversed he'd get that from you guys.
I think that De Gea has 2 options, a new contract with a low release clause, leaving next year for 20/25m or stay the whole year without a renewal. In that case I guess that he would receive Madrid 10m€ compensation, although in theory that is not legal. I think that he will renew to calm the things with fans and Van Gaal.
I can´t see too much punishment for Florentino in Madrid. He managed(accidentally) to save money and keep the goalkeeper that Bernabeu wanted. People will forget about all this as soon as the next soap opera starts (Bale,Isco, Rafa,Iker in Porto..). I can´t speak about other Madrid fans but I wouldn´t chant his name. I wouldn´t want an unhappy player in my team, and less forcing him to stay against his will :p

Just imagine the shoe on the other foot...say, somehow, we didn't get the Martial deal done. Do you think, for one second, anyone would believe that it was Monaco's fault? Of course not - they would, very rightly, call Woodward and LVG jackasses, waiting until deadline deal to save a few pounds, only to feck up a deal where all you had to do was pay what was asked to get a player that wants to come.

But somehow, in the DDG case, we've got our own fans saying United were the incompetent ones for not getting it sorted earlier. Amazing.

This nails it. Madrid cocked up all round.

Little did he know, Thiago's injury record proved he was an ideal United player....

Would be a textbook case of illegal tapping up.

If Olly had a nickel for every time someone steals his gifs, he'd be rolling around in nickels.

The first time I saw one of his gifs, I wasn't even a Caf newbie.

Any Spanish speakers who can translate this page?

EL MADRID PIDE PERDON A KEYLOR
Madrid Apologize To Keylor

Aqui Estoy Yo - I Am Here?

The goalkeeper is happy to stay with (?) the whites and is up for the challenge. He trained yesterday in Valdebebas like nothing had happened.

De Gea digests with stupor the hit to his dream, he doesn´t rule out the renewal.
Manchester stretched out the operation so much and Madrid didn´t have time to close the deal.
Madrid apologizes to Keylor
The Gk is happy for being white and is motivated for the challenge, he trained in Valdebebas like nothing had happened.
"HERE I AM"
Santiago Segurola in his article: "a desirable/convenient ridiculous and a victim on the road/in the path"

Wait a second. Did we force Madrid to pay Ramos so much money that they couldn't afford Dave and this is their way of saving face?

Madrid only have themselves to blame. They knew early on we valued DDG at 30-35mil, and wanted either Navas or Ramos in the deal, but they were so determined to show the world that they can get this deal sorted out completely on their own terms. Well that's too bad. It was well within their means to get this sorted a month ago, once the Ramos issue was put to bed. I can't even believe that anyone is trying to lay blame on the selling club.

As someone rightly pointed out, if the Martial deal had messed up, no one is going to blame Monaco no matter what the details are, because we were the ones who left it late. But i suppose painting United as bumbling, fumbling fools still makes for better news than the obvious truth that Real's arrogance caused this situation.

Now let's got DDG's head right, and go for that league title.

Man Utd sell papers and clicks more than any other club, I guess.

Someone talking about suing  For what exactly? I'd love to see that case in court, idiotic.

Also, SAF would never bench De Gea knowing his importance to the team. That would amount to daft man management, which actually makes it more likely it's something Van Gaal would do

Fawning over a club statement is very RAWKish to me.

It's pretty childish from both sides, to be fair. What a mess.

Inching ever so closer.

The fact that there were basically pages of " " and what amounted to fist pumping over some simple statement from the club i++s just :wenger: But I guess when you've had the last year and half United have had, you take the happiness anyway you can get it

I just have to laugh at the situation. No idea who actually dithered, but you have to laugh when the longest running transfer saga of the window, only has actual bids placed on deadline day and then they can't submit the paperwork in time.

Guess we get to go through the whole things again in January.

Teams bend over to give what you want too often, though, since players are idiots who want to join you so badly. Bayern should have faffed about a bit more if they'd have gotten a fair deal for Kroos. Same for us with Beckham or Bremen with Ozil.

Real Madrid alienate their club legend and captain, angering their fans in the process, in order to create space for a player they ultimately don't get because of their own arrogance and/or incompetence.

Not a bad outcome
