Dean Henderson | Nottingham Forest loan watch

Do they have an obligation to buy? If not he'll end up back here and we'll struggle to sell him for anything given the high wage

I’m not sure how tall he actually is, but he so often looks really small. Seen several goals this season where you feel a bigger frame/longer reach would’ve comfortably saved some shots. He’s got some strengths to his game but he’s never looked like a top keeper to me and certainly nowhere near being a United number 1. It’s a dichotomy because obviously one wants him to do well so he can secure a sizeable fee for a future transfer, but he’s just such an unlikeable character that it’s hard to root for him.

And i had him as gk in fpl because ramsdale might be injured. Figured its bournemouth and they embarrassed him.

I think he would be an upgrade on De Gea if he were as good a shot-stopper, but he isn't. He's a much worse shot-stopper, and it's that much difference that you really notice. He needs to be sold, hopefully he'll have a good season so we can get a decent fee.

Found Michael Owen's Caf account

his "commanding" would only be a major factor over DDG if he was equally good at actual keeping, which he obviously isn't.

How is the English Buffon faring? He's too big to wait for ETH's assessment

I'm going to try and enjoy laughing at his hubris personally. My opinion isn't important enough to make a tangible difference. I really dont feel like i owe last seasons squad anything in terms of support or backing.

Salah's goal against him at Old Trafford was all anyone ever needed to see.

Happy to see Forest go down this season because of their ridiculous transfer window and Henderson and Lingard's arrogance.

He looks small because his technique is shit. Have a look at Cancelo's goal from their game against City (1:03 if the timestamp doesn't work):

It's not that he doesn't save it, or that other keepers wouldn't struggle to keep that out, it's just how obviously shit his technique is. He gets in a full "dive" but doesn't actually fecking move anywhere. He moves a grand total of about two feet in the direction of the ball. How often do you see top keepers dive like that and look so awkward?

He's 6'2" and often looks like he has the reach of a 5'8" bloke because he doesn't know where to position himself and doesn't know how to dive. It's not like it's just that one goal at all either, his technique always looks awkward and ineffective. He'll continue to concede weird goals like that Kane one that trickled past him and struggle to save anything else that isn't a penalty or hit straight at him.

I mean you obviously need a doctorate to understand the insightful comment of

Was it Oxford or Cambridge you gained such tactical insights?

Maybe because he is better in the air, better with his feet, more proactive? If you don't have anything to say, you can just shut up.

First goal looks awesome at first sight but last replay shows that it doesn't go in the corner. Ball goes little bit left of the middle.

Good gk saves that. Easily. With right hand. And this is not first time that he fails to save shots which go above his head.

This myths are still alive? Bloody hell. I thought that this is over by now.
In that period when he played for us, he showed that his ball playing game is nothing better than Dave's and that he is stuck on the line nearly the same as Dave.

This explains the Michael Owen level analysis earlier.

You haven't a clue. Henderson is none of things you claimed.

I can't stand Henderson. That interview shows the public exactly what he is. He just comes off like a spoilt brat in the Pogba, Lingard category. The guy thinks he is the second coming of Buffon or something. He’s one of the United leaks. The fact that he’s not even left the club permanently is mental.

"I didn’t let the manager see me train because he’d probably want to keep me".

- Dean Henderson, most goals conceded in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season

Next time ddg has a poor game the 'Henderson for number one' crowd will be back peddling their nonsense. He's bang average and a complete nob to boot. Glad he's not in house to poison the well but it's a bit of a shame he's playing, as the myth that always flourishes when he's not playing, that he's a decent option, won't get the oxygen so he'll be harder to flog.

Yup, just shows the things people will invent to fit their narrative. Every stats website so far has Henderson's passing as even worse than DDG yet people continue to peddle the myth that he's better with his feet. Even his pass success is somewhere close to being among the lowest of all keepers if not the lowest.

But I bet we'll still see that shit being peddled for awhile

Oh the expert has talked. Go fix your teeth.

Anything else you want to be wrong about Mr cocky know it all? Come at me.

The only person who thinks he's actually good is Henderson himself. Never known such a bang average footballer to be so full of himself.

Yeah he's saved two penalties but one of those was a poor penalty from the taker most goalkeepers should be saving it.

De Gea isn't good enough for us anymore, but even in current form he is a better GK than Henderson. I'm baffled we have "fans" of Henderson on this board, wonder what the feck they see in him.

He shouts a lot but his shot-stopping, reactions, movement, passing are all bang-average. Giving him a 6-year contract on £120k a week has to be one of the worst decisions by the club in recent years. Sell him if anyone offers us money.

Some people are weird playing for a relegation threatened team as a GK, dosent matter what you do there are gonna be days you concede goals.

Did nothing wrong for the 3 goals today, a 25 yard thunderbolt, Deflected goal and a very easy chance thanks to a complete defensive cock up.

Not his day today he will have a few more days like that playing for forest this season im sure.

Could be worse, could of had such a poor game that the manager has had to alter his philosophy to a much more pragmatic style to save his blushes like De Gea.

Salah's goal against him at Old Trafford was all anyone ever needed to see.
Amen, he can't keep goal he basically invited Salah to put the ball in the back of the net.
The last thing we need is another moron who believes his own hype.
I have a feeling he'll get found out this season.

Not having a good time of it at all.

Forest is starting to look like a bad move, not sure many keepers would look good with that team playing the way it is in front of them.

If he wasn't a Man United fan and came through academy nobody would be looking at him twice, that much is clear.

His ego doesn't match his talent. Good at pens. average at everything else.

It is fitting I think. His ego requires some deflating if he is going to come in here next year and truly compete for a role. Because chances are that role will be depth.

That’s what happens when you overpay players like we do. You create ego monsters who think they have already made it and don’t want to put the yards in.

We got rid of Pogba, Lingard and Henderson, but the squad is still full of them. Years and years of mismanagement.

Here is the stat for you. Most important one for gk.
Last two games; 12 shots on target. 9 goals in.

You are defending the worst gk in league. But do go on
