Derby County Vs Manchester United

"Carlos will be back in training on Monday and he'll be involved on Wednesday," the boss told MUTV.

"It'll be virtually the same squad [that travelled to Southampton]. I might leave out one or two, but it'll be more or less the same group of players."

no fab or manucho then .

Yeah i'm there courtesy of Mr Heap, should be a goodun

Will be a belter.

6,000 Reds on a night KO, in an un-fashionable away game.

You wont be cold believe me :D

-------------------PIG------------------------
Rafael-------Vidic-------Evans----------O'Shea
Park-------Fletcher-----Anderson----------Nani
-------------Tevez-----Welbeck---------------

Subs: Foster*, Neville, Fabio, Possebon, Gibson, Giggs, Rooney.

* If Foster isn't fit, then probably Amos. I'd rest VDS completely.

I expect this team -

PIG

Rafael Evans Neville Shea
Fletcher Anderson Scholes Giggs
Rooney Tevez

Wouldn't be against Ronnie getting a run out, get back in the groove and hopefully bag himself a goal in the build up to Sunday. That is if he's back from Madeira.

Be nice to see Manucho out there after Welbeck had his chance against Southampton.

The reserves match tonight has been cancelled, which is a shame as that would have indicated whether or not Fabio is in the squad for tomorrow's game.

Should win this one, no matter what 11 take the field....... Anyway, we have the comfort of a 2nd leg at home if Derby pull of any sort of a shock.

I think it beggar's belief, ..... why are Carling Cup semi's always 2 legged ?.... when teams in all division's want a cut-back in fixtures, especially if involved in title, euro, promotion & relegation issues!

Yes, it may be extra revenue, but teams like Derby would surely have a better chance of getting to a wembly final in a once-off tie!

Let's do them 7-0, play the reserves and under-10s during the second leg.

It'll be good experience for that little Aussie kid

Ron left Madeira on Sunday - after a few days diving (into the hotel pool) - so he's probably still hiding in the steamroom at Carrington :D I doubt we'll see him tomorrow, I reckon he'd get kicked before they left the tunnel - not the best game for him before Chelsea. That said, he'll probably play the full 90 and score a hat-trick, and somebody on here will call him a flat-track bully who should learn how to pass.

With SAF talking about Welbeck not being ready for full games I doubt we'll see him play twice in a week. The rest of the team will depend on Sunday - I wouldn't be surprised if Vidic was rested.

As someone who remembers the York City 3-0 defeat well enough and more recently was present at OT for the draw against Exeter, there remains still that sense of unknwon in Cup compeititons even in 2008 no matter how good as we seem [particularly when you chop and change your team].

Anybody have a veetle channel for this?
PM me, please.
myp2p.eu is down :(

When do the squads for games like this get announced, I'm intrigued as to whether Fabio and Manucho will get a run. Hopefully it'll be a weak team tomorrow, can always tidy up at Old Trafford. If not, doesn't really matter anyway, at least none of our rivals are going to win it.

Who do United play after the second leg?

I noticed all of todays other games besides the semi final are off, frozen pitches. i wonder is this match under threat now? i hope not, last thing we need is another game to fit in somewhere

Spurs (Home) FA Cup, Sat. 24 Jan.

Just realizing I have no clue who SAF might select tomorrow. I'm assuming we'll be looking like this...

van der Sar
Neville - Ferdinand/Evans - Vidic - Evra
Fletcher - Carrick - Park
Ronaldo - Berbatov - Rooney

...vs. Chelsea. Tomorrow, then...uh...

Kuszczak
Rafael - Evans - Vidic/O'Shea - O'Shea/Fabio
Nani - Fletcher - Anderson - Giggs
Tevez - Wellbeck

But I'm not sure. I've bolded the ones I think are "safe" bets. But ANYWAY, might have to call in sick for this one.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to give a debut to Fabio da Silva in tonight's Carling Cup semi against Derby.

Fabio, the 19-year-old twin of new first-choice right back Rafael, may get a chance tonight after missing much of the season through Injury.

Ferguson said: "I am awaiting his return with great interest because Rafael has made a tremendous impact.

"They are identical twins - I can't tell them apart, expect that one is married and wears a ring! It will be exciting to find out if their football ability is identical. There is every chance that it is because Fabio captained Brazil at each youth level."

In typical Tribalbollocks fashion, nowhere does Ferguson say he hopes to field him against Derby...

Those quotes have been around for ages, before the Derby game, after all.

what shite journalism. Fabio's 18 ffs. If they actually even knew rafael's age then they could have guessed the age of his TWIN:rolleyes:
I've seen those quote well before today, tribal living up to their name I see.

Has Jewel made any progress with Derby apart from releasing another home-made video? No need to risk the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo in this one, our reserves should be able to get a decent result and we'll finish the business in the 2nd leg at OT. I say let the Da Silvas, Welbeck, Possebon and Gibson play in this one with a few of the first teamers.

I'd be happy with a clean sheet to be honest.
