The FA Cup - Fifth Round
Pride Park
Sunday 15th February 2009
KO: 16:30 GMT

(This match is on ITV1 for those that don't know...)

Id like to see...

Foster
Rafael Brown Ferdinand Fabio
Park Fletcher Gibson Nani
Wellbeck Tevez

I hope Rooney is fit for this one. Would be a great chance for to find some form after injury.

Perfect chance for Rooney to get some match fitness before some of the crucial games in the Premier League and Champions League that's coming up.

Sure that'd be nice but come on, we're 4 wins from this trophy, halfway thru the tourney, why wouldn't we field near-full-strength?

Bit of a squad break too, another week off... why not?

Foster
Brown-Ferdinand-Evans-Evra
Park--Carrick--Fletcher--Nani
Rooney-Tevez

They won't beat us twice in a season, I'm confident of going through. Fergie will go with a mix of experienced and young players who have proved they can do a job when needed.

Foster
Rafael - Ferdinand - Brown - Evra
Welbeck - Fletcher - Scholes - Nani
Berbatov - Rooney

subs: PIG, O'Shea, Fabio, Ronaldo, Giggs, Tosic, Tevez

Should be a good match for Rooney, Evra and Brown to gain some match fitness. Rest Van der Sar, Ronaldo, Vidic, Giggs, Tevez and Carrick for this, we have quite a busy schedule coming up.

-------------------- Foster ---------------------
Rafael ------ Vidic ------- Evans?? ---- Evra
Welbeck ------ Fletcher -- Carrick ------ Nani
------------ Tevez ----------- Rooney ----------

Whats the situation with Evans?

Win this and we're in the last eight with a ropey Chelsea side, no Liverpool, one of Villa or Everton out, and Arsenal as the only other top six side.

We can win this competition with a bit of luck

His name is Rio, and he's a beast.

Reckon we will see

---------------VDS
--Brown---Rio---Vidic---Evra
--Ronnie--Fletcher--Carrick--Park
---------Tevez
----------------Berba

Will SAF really risk Evra or give him an extra week off to make sure he's fit for Inter....

Also, I forgot that Vidic is almost certain to play since he misses the Inter game.

Another week off  I was struggling to pass the time last week. But it'll help the squad, especially those not on international duties, there's no doubt about that.

We'd probably field

Foster

Rafael
Brown
Vidic
Evra

Park
Fletcher
Scholes
Nani

Rooney
Tevez

Subs: Kusz, Neville, O'Shea, Ronaldo, Carrick, Giggs, Berbatov.

Hope we'll batter these boys silly to make up for whatever happened there in the League Cup. Still irked me that result.

a reasonable assumption for the team.....that should see us through.

I like that team.

We're not playing Inter straight away, we're playing Fulham home.

Anyway I see this team starting :

Foster

Rafael
Brown
Evans
Evra

Nani
Fletcher
Scholes
Fabio

Rooney
Tevez

0-4 for the champions.

----------Foster-----------
-Rafael-Brown-Vidic-O'shea-
-Park-Fletcher-Carrick-Nani-
-----Welbeck---Tevez------

Subs: Kuz, Neville, Berbatov, Fabio, Tosic, Gibson, Giggs

EDIT: Changed O'shea for Fabio.

Park not even on the bench after having only 5 minutes and no touches and not playing recently when he was picking up some nice form? I'd give it to him over Welbeck. Park we'll need at the end of the season, I can't see us (bar some major injuries) needing Welbeck on the right wing as much as we need to keep Park in form...

van der Sar

Neville--- Ferdinand --- Vidic --- Evra

Ronaldo --- Gibson --- Fletcher ---- Nani

Tevez --- Welbeck

Subs: Foster, Rafael, Fabio, Giggs, Scholes, Park, Berbatov

feck sake - I'm going to miss this game becaue I'm at work..thats 2 in a row

Wellbeck and I imagine Fabio will be given a chance. Nani will also play and Vidic will most likely be rested with Brown to fill in.

It's time for Rio to get a game with whoever he'll be partnering against Inter. Why wasn't Brown even on the bench yesterday? Comebacks for Rooney, Nani and Evra. Rests for a few. Ronaldo on the bench, just in case.

fergie said evans will be fit for this
rooney hopefully for next tuesday
evra might be fit for derby
nani fit too ..

him talking on the crerand show .. deary me

Foster

Rafael
Brown
Evans (O'Shea)
O'Shea (Fabio)

Nani
Fletcher
Scholes
Giggs

Rooney
Tevez

Rest some players for the Fulham game. 2-0 win

---------------------Kuzczak----------------------

--Neville------Brown------Rio------------Evra----

--Park---------Fletcher--Carrick------Nani-------

---------------Rooney---Wellbeck----------------

Bench: VDS, Vidic, Fabio, Scholsey, Berbatov, Ronaldo, Tevez, Giggsy
Prediction: 2-1 in for us with goals from Rooney, Nani
Rest VDS, Vidic (who have played a lot in the past 2 months), Berbatov & Tevez ( who has been leading our frontline for past month)
: Evra, Nani & Rooney to start to gain some matchfitness.
I expect a brilliant Nani performance

I think he had some bruising around his foot. I'd agree tho, if he's fit and Fergie intends to play him there against Inter then it would be good for him to get a run out at centre-half. I actually think Fergie might fancy Evans as Rio's partner for the Inter game though....we'll see what happens against Derby/Fulham.

I don't expect us to be playing our Carling Cup team in this game. I really can't see the Gibson's and Possebon's starting. I fancy Welbeck to be involved though (and not Wellbeck as so many are STILL calling him)

Derby 1-0 (Kris Commons). Let's see if lightning does strike twice.

A strong side, but perhaps few key players rested for the mid-week game...

i live it upto SAF for picking players, as he has been the best in the world in doing so, he knows more about it than any of us.

As far as the score line is concerned, i am predicting 2-0 comfortable victory, with Rooney and Tevez scoring.

Can't see us resting too many players - this is the FA Cup! Players coming back from injury need game time to get fit for time ahead:-

Foster
Brown Vidic Ferdinand Evra

Fletcher Scholes Gibson

Ronaldo Tevez Rooney
