I'm still hoping there's actually just one Diouf a la Rafael/Fabio. The don't look like each other, but it could be he puts on a mask when he switches flanks.

Starting today against Vålerenga, I'll keep you updated.

Game starts in 15.

18 minutes,

Vålerenga 0 - 1 Molde (The golden boy, Mame Biram Diouf)

First touch header after a cross, wasn't marked, easy finish.

He's also called up to play Senegals next game against Angola 5th september.

The black manucho versus. the black pele.

who'll win?

Does anyone have a clip of the goal he scored? or some extended H/L's?

Came on very late in a friendly 1-1 draw vs Angola today. Didn't score, and neither did former Caf favorite Manucho. But perhaps the appearance will help with the inevitable work permit wrangle.

But apparently he has to score four goals every game in order to get a start, that is so unfair. I think the coach is probably a racist.

Unquestionably. There's a filthy glass ceiling for Black Senegalese players. The mail says outrage.

He has to be selected as well. Apparently not all Africans are playing...

They didn't, which means no competitive games for a while, just friendlies. Next month they play South Korea and Park Ji-Sung.

The Home Office work permit rulings used to be based on competitive games, not friendlies. I really don't see much hope for a "special talent" ruling on this guy by January. Probably have to ship him off to Greece or Belgium until next summer. Ljaijic could be in a similar position.

Or, which is actually likely, have him play another season in Norway.

I thought the point of the special talent rule was that it allowed the signing of players who had not yet qualified for work permit via international appearances

Me too but I doubt MBD will get one, as I don't think he's really done anything of note in international youth tournaments.

I am not sure if SAF even wants to get him here so early.. In a interview last week he said that he may decide to let him remain on loan until the summer.. and iirc the Norwegian season ends in what November? What will he do at a club in their off season? My bet is that he will come to England and simply train with us like Rafael & Fabio did a little over a year ago.. Then we will probably have to farm him out on loan further as we are very unlikely to get him a work permit this soon!
