Disappointment On The Horizon . . .

You have a lot to learn, I would sooner have 11 players sweating blood for the club rather than 11 players who are just in it for the money.
And player ability has nothing to do with it?

It's a given that a professional footballer at this level has ability.

Give me 11 players with the comitment and desire to play for United like Alan Smith ahead of 11 Ronaldos any day.

Ive seen teams made by committed players who ended up being relegated but ive yet to see one filled with geniune talents who ended up in that way.

Agreed

I've never seen a team without commitment be successful.

I rather be relegated with a team that plays for the shirt, rather than watch a team full of talent not achieving anything due to lack of comitment.

A team of 11 Alan Smiths would beat a team of 11 Ronaldos.

I doubt that 11 Fletchers would beat a team of 11 Ronaldos though

I seriously doubt that though. Considering the amount of mistimed tackles there would be by the alan smith team, I'd give them about 10 minutes before they're all red carded.

The Ronaldos will throw a tantrum and a) start crying and leave the field or b) lose their heads get sent off themselves.

And once the Smiths 11 were victorious, they'd hopefully proceed to kick the living shit out of the Ronaldos 11. That would be a sight worth seeing.

The Ronaldo XI will have left in a huff already, claiming he wants to play for a better team with better players.

Would they be crying and whining about how the club had not supported them through a tough period?

Yes, and they will start blaming each other as well.

Hopefully with lots of arm-waving and other latin look-how-I'm-suffering gestures?

Hope the dopeys and xenophobes get what they wish for this summer - zero buys and the sale of all those undesirable pesky foreign players from the club.

Fletcher, O'Shea and Richardson in every first team game. ;)
If that happens, you'll get to post here even more than you currently do... Everyones happy.

There is not a great deal that can be done if players don't want to to sign for us........we've never really been able to attract top foriegn players....bar Veron (even that was **** of his dodgey passport), I can't think of one non-uk player that has joined us, who has was a prominent world class player! the likes of Ruud, Heinze, Schmeichel were not that well known before they joined.

Maybe we just have to accept that there are more attractive places to be and not have such high expectations. Afterall, united teams have all been built around youth and nurtured unknown players!

Really? All the players at the club merit their places?

Give me 11 players with the comitment and desire to play for United like Alan Smith ahead of 11 Ronaldos any day.
That's only if ability goes along with commitment.

Alan Smith isn't even regular first team material but that's another issue altogether.

Nope.

I'll just amuse myself by reading the dopeys' postings over the performances of the "bleeding red" players, player ability or skill be damned.

Barca or Madrid would beat Everton. Comprehensively too. Because they're better than them.

Barca have players who are fighting all game long and Madrid wouldn't be that certain to beat anyone with their recent form.

It's not like Barcelona is based on 11 Ronaldos who don't give a feck about team and care only about their haircuts and tricks.
