I mean if the best attacking trio in the world couldn't succeed in scoring a single goal against them on 180 minutes you suppose that we will be the ones to do that ?

I can see them winning 2 - 0 easily and will be frustrating to watch. Jose doesn't need to face a unbeatable defense to know his attacking requirements. The league is the key to judge our attack efficacy. Also we would have probably finished our transfers business by this match any way.

Madrid will come to attack and play football. It will be a much better match in everything, tactically and in entertainment.

Juventus aren't invincible. Any challenge should be met with excitment. Madrid has the potential to embarass us 4-0 5-0, I'd prefer to avoid that. Worst teams than us have managed to score against them

I want Madrid. I want to see Ronaldo again and how we'll set up in the Champions League against a deadly attacking unit.

We should use this match as a barometer at which to compare our progress from this season also. I don't care if we play anti-football, it's another trophy and will only give the lads confidence going into the Champions League.

That won't happen. We aren't Arsenal. :D

+1

We don't have a Messi/Suarez/Neymar type of players so your comparison is weird to me. We're a team in construction, facing such a strong defensive team may help Mourinho realize some adjustements needed in attack (not that he'd need a game against them to do that).

Talking about a preference makes more sense and is absolutely fine. I hate almost everything Real Madrid related, so I'd do fine not facing them.

Fair enough! Strictly matchwise speaking either is going to be a big test anyway. Good litmus test for us to test our credentials for next season, but also not to be taken as the absolute given it is a pre-season trophy.

We have as much history if not more playing against Juventus than Madrid.

I don't disagree with that objectively speaking. I was talking about what I find more memorable on a personal level and personally the Madrid matches are a more special occasion to me. The match where Fenomeno scored a hat-trick and or CL tie of 2013 particularly stand out. It will vary from fan to fan. Someone else might value the rivalry with Juventus more and I'm sure as you say there's plenty to justify that.

Depending on who we buy and how much players kick on from this season either one of these teams will be a challenge, but a good marker for how ready we are for Champions League. I was one of the biggest supporters for wanting us to win the Europa League, but now it's done it's time for us to move on and test ourselves in the elite again and this is the perfect testing arena.

We've had so many epic battles with both teams so both are likely to be a hard battle, but I'd genuinely be interested in seeing Mourinho test his abilities against Zidane as I feel Zidane is a one track coach who might not have a plan b beyond his "Galacticos collective ability". I feel Mourinho could set us up to frustrate Madrid and beat them on the counter.....Either way, it's good to have these moments to look forward to again.

Has to be Real and a chance to play against Ronnie again. When do tickets go on sale?

Juve. Feck Real Madrid. I don't want them winning another European Cup and certainly don't want them being the first team to retain the CL.
Plus I've always had a soft spot for Juve. They were THE team when I grew up watching football.

I want Juventus to win the CL. But Madrid vs. United would be a great occasion.

Id love to face Madrid...could be a weird one where DDG is Reals keeper and Ronnie faces us and Mou faces his old club. Hopefully we would have a few new faces to add but do believe with Mou we can easily frustrate them and beat them.

Juventus without a shadow of a doubt as I don't want Real Madrid to win yet another European trophy

Real Madrid.... cause I want us to beat them and we'll never beat them if we never play them

Plus I don't want Pogba feeling bad for leaving juventes and then them winning the CL the next season...

Real for 3 reasons.

The game will be spectacular

Ronaldo will be there

Pogba won't regret leaving Juve and the media can't talk about how they're better without him.

I'm torn on this one, being a Juve fan I want them to win and Gigi to have the medal he's been missing, but on the other hand there's our boy Ronaldo, I really want him to win his 5th Ballon D'or, and winning the UCL is going to go a long way in making sure that happens.

For once, I'll be watching the game as a neutral.

Juventus. It's a tough call because I'd love to see CR7 back with all the United fans etc. But it's the Real fans I can't stand - very fickle bunch.

So Juve gets my vote. More romance surrounding it, Pogba back with his old team and Dybala can try on a Utd shirt to see if he fancies it ;)

If Madrid win their 12th and become the first team to retain the CL in this era, it's gonna be kind of hard for any United fan to still call their club "the biggest in the world" with a straight face.

Think about it, they'll have won as many European Cups in 3 years as United have in their entire history.

All the more reason to root for Juve.

I agree with you, none of what you say will stop some rooting for Madrid due to Ronaldo.
