I want Madrid. I want to see Ronaldo again and how we'll set up in the Champions League against a deadly attacking unit.

We should use this match as a barometer at which to compare our progress from this season also. I don't care if we play anti-football, it's another trophy and will only give the lads confidence going into the Champions League.
Yeah, this.

If Madrid win their 12th and become the first team to retain the CL in this era, it's gonna be kind of hard for any United fan to still call their club "the biggest in the world" with a straight face.

Think about it, they'll have won as many European Cups in 3 years as United have in their entire history.

All the more reason to root for Juve.
No one is saying we're the biggest club in the world right now. The likes of Madrid, Barca, Juve were ahead of us even during the SAF days. We're the biggest brand name of the lot, and the biggest club in England.

Juventus, it would be nice to see Buffon win the CL. He's a class act.

Nope, we played against Chelsea the summer after he left iirc.

How do you think Madrid fans would react to him? His time there wasn't as successful as hoped for but he was up against one, if not the, greatest football sides of all time.

Juve just because I think Madrid could put 4/5 past us and really derail our confidence. If we lose to Juve it would only be 2-0.

I don't agree. If they were to beat us it would be by no more than 2 goals. They're a very good attacking team but we're an excellent defensive side, we could stop them, or at worse concede 1 or 2... and we're about to spend 200 Million on attacking reinforcements. It would be a good game.

Biggest, not best.

I expect it'll be pretty good, don't think there's many who really hate him.

Either will be great. I'm torn between wanting Buffon and Ronaldo to win the Champion's League. Buffon as it would be a great story for him to finally get it, while Ronaldo getting a third victory is something a player like him deserves and probably needs. I don't really want Real to be the team to finally retain the title, but if any team was going to do it it's probably them given their European Cup history. Ronaldo will probably win another one anyway, though.

I'll go Juventus as well, we haven't played them for a while. Would be nice for Pogba.

I want Juventus to win the Champions League competition, so Juventus it is.

Madrid because it'd be a better game, allow us to test ourselves against the best and I really can't be arsed with the fanfare surrounding Juventus and Pogba.

Don't want Real winning back to back CL.

I like that record that its never been retained and if they do it, we'll never hear the end if it from Marca and Ballague.

So Juve for me although Real would be a more interesting albeit tougher game.

Are people picking Madrid younger fans? And/or Ronaldo fans? I feel we have a much stronger connection with Juventus and our matches with them in the 90s were very instrumental in shaping the club. I don't really get why anyone gives a shit about playing Madrid.

No chance mate. Mourinho will have us setup perfectly for this match. We won't concede 4-5 goals in a one off game to anyone. Especially if we do our transfer business early and they are all available for the super cup.

Mourinho is the master of the one off games and if we do lose it will be by a goal or two not a thrashing by any means.

Want Juventus to win the CL but would prefer Madrid in the Super Cup for the drama. Jose against his old team. Ronaldo back in front of our fans. Griezmann with a chance to finally take a European trophy at Madrid's expense. De Gea showing whoever what they're missing out on.

Both two wanky clubs, will need some good new signings to beat either though. I would prefer Juve though as I think they would be slightly less difficult opposition.

Surely they're both one wanky club, no?

Madrid.

I would rather play Madrid because it would be a more exciting match and it would feel better if we beat them, but I don't want them to with the champions league so I voted Juve.

Real Madrid vs Manchester United is to monumentally huge not to want it to happen, even if it is just the Super Cup.

Biggest match fecking Macedonia is ever hosting anyway.

This.

Madrid. Mou to play 6 across the back line with Griezmann and James as defensive wingers and have Fellaini shin one in off Sergio Ramos' arse in the 92nd minute past a frozen De Gea.

Juve. Can't stand Madrid, and also Juve are surely overdue to win the Champions League trophy, having not won it since 1996, and it would it also be good for them with the final being only 5 days after the anniversary of the Heysel disaster.

Juventus. I hate Real and they must not be the first club to defend the Champions League. :D

If they want to play the mighty United, the have to play hard in the final.

Biggest, not best.

Being the commercially biggest or biggest off the pitch really gets the fans celebrating. Nothing like opening a spreadsheet and celebrating that we're leaving our rivals in our wake:rolleyes:

Juventus.

Juventus shows how you can fight the money bags of football and build a great team by having shrewd management & an intelligent transfer policy.

what....

They have spent €341m in the last two seasons, mostly doing a Bayern Munich and stealing their rivals best players lol

They got about half of that by getting Pogba and Coman for free and selling them for 133m combined.

What teams paid for those players and what Juventus got for them isn't the same. They paid a lot more for Higuain than what they got for Pogba.

With all due respect to the OP, threads like these are so small time and its what I always see on Bluemoon. Can't imagine Real Madrid/Juve/Barca/Bayern boards coming up with a poll like this. They would relish and take on ANYONE.
We will beat either of them anyway. Mourinho is a master in cup finals. If we face Juventus, we are guaranteed to win. If we face Real Madrid, its about 40/60.

My point was in comparison to Real Madrid who has spent €100m in the last two seasons, less than a third of Juventus, saying they aren't part of the group that throw money around is rich. (pun intended)

Juventus. I hate Real so I dont want them to win either. Also, United fans need to get over Ronaldo ffs hes been there for 8 fecking seasons.

I used to like Madrid as a club because of Cristiano, but lately i have started to despise them both, i have started hating anything and everything related to Madrid and Ronaldo for various reasons. Then there is Juventus, another despicable Club, buying players from their rivals and crippling the entire league. So i think i will prefer facing Juventus and i genuinely feel we could beat + we will get a chance to see Pogba playing against his old club.
