Do you see the plan yet?

Looking forward to even more clarity over what the plan is when we absolutely annihilate Everton tomorrow.

This did not age well.

Jokes aside, this game once again exposes the problems in both the squad and coaching department. Even if we need better players, can’t we at least learn to attack a set piece? Or go all out against a weak Everton team in the latter part of a home game, when we stand to win so much?

Game raisers of a team of Europa league level. Upper mid-table. The question is whether January transfer window will push us further up the table or not. If not, thank Ole at the end of the season and hire a manager that has 1) a Plan A that helps win most of games 2) a Plan B that helps win most of games when plan A fails.

We got in behind their full backs at will then consistently fecked up the crosses and shots. We had something like 27 shots today. The finishing was the main issue. Not the plan.
Christ. I've seen lots of Ole 'defenders', but you seem to be the most hardcore one on here. If the plan didn't work then it becomes an issue. Every time I see your post after a loss/draw, it's always the players fault or anyone but Ole. No, it's both the manager and the players fault. And no, We did't get behind their full backs at will.

Are you watching a different game? For you, the 81 crosses tactic during Moyes era must have been good enough. It's painful to see ManUnited manager struggling to beat a team led by Duncan Ferguson.

There is a plan A but no plan B and personally I don't think we can build a plan B with our current squad. Will need recruitment over the next 2 windows for that. Ole knows and understands that we are short 2-3 players so that is a good start

In fact we had eight shots on target, and an xG of 1.3. And a good chunk of that was from the shot Lingard had within the first minute, which was more down to luck than anything else.

Yes, park the bus against better teams. Against other teams, hoof the ball to pacy players upfront and pray it reaches one of them.

This crap again.

Good crosses = good
Bad crosses = bad

They weren't clinical enough in the final 3rd. 27 shots, 17 chances. They should have put at least a couple away.

Yeah, this crap again. 24 shots, 8 shots on target (not 17). Hoof the ball to wingers = bad crosses.

Everton only had 3 shots on target, They shouldn't have scored. Everyone's fault but Ole. We need other game plans, anyone with half a brain can see this.

Yes, win against the top 6 and lose or draw against the rest.

The plan as has been said hundreds of times already, is to get played off the park by every garbage side in the league. Because Ole does not have a fecking clue how to beat teams when his side aren't the massive underdogs.

He'd be a top manager for a Watford or a Wigan who only care about causing upsets. He's a fecking shite manager for any side that wants consistent football picking up 3 points against the dross in the league.

We have no plan, we just counter attack and have no clue against the other sides, just random really. Anyone who sees a plan is on drugs

I see it now. Finally.
A) sit deep and wait for counters
B) if opposition is also sitting deep then change nothing and spin the ball around doing nothing
C) if we concede a goal, then throw in another attacker and go on "hail Mary" style.

There is no plan.

its the same shite week in week out.

unless utd are behind or under pressure, thereis no attacking intent. Thats the managers fault

Utd are beingrun raggedin 2nd half against a truly awful watford

embarrassing

Do the same bullshit over and over again and hope for something else.

Moyes had more bollocks.

Well the fact that we can beat all the top teams suggests we have something about us. The question is why we’re so languid against lower quality sides.

Didn't work out so well for Cardiff though.

There is a plan

ie we hired a legend whose so grateful for this opportunity that he will never ever criticise the club. That would keep the top reds out of the owner's back. Meanwhile we're keeping the expenses as low as possible (signing as few players as possible, get rid of those on high salary and promote as many kids as possible) while hoping that a bit of nostalgia and a positive run will be enough. If that doesn't work then throw Ole under the bridge, we bring in a new manager and this whole fun fare start all over again.

Ole is just 1 of the many problems we've got. However we won't sort shit with this owners.

I wish I could pay more attention so that I could see the plan but I think if I tried to I'd probably fall asleep.

25 points after 18 games thus far. Lowest in PL history for the club.

Yeah, afraid this isn’t too far from the truth. It’s either that or almost inconceivable levels of incompetence.

I see the plan. The plan is to be so bad that eventually every team we play will be a "big team", and then we'll win every game.

You just blew my mind.
Ole is a true genius.

I do however, see a problem with this plan.
After we have gone 1 season, beating everybody (and winning the league), what will Ole do in the season after? Will he need to lose against all teams again, to become the plucky underdog?

Indeed.
I doubt anybody could argue against this.

Everyone is saying "we don't have a plan except counter attack" but one of the worst things about how we play against Watford-like teams is that we arrogantly slow the ball down instead of trying to play quickly on the break.

We play with the arrogance of Barca despite being unable to actually create a chance once teams get set. Fecking mindblowing.

Our lack of width is horrific to watch. Bissaka and Shaw should be hugging the line but they're pretty closer to the edge of the area a lot of the time. Not that either of them have the attacking quality to particularly worry sides

Nah.

Very few owners know their stuff in football. What they do is appoint people who do the thinking for them. If they fail to make an impact then they sack them and they hope to get it right the second time round. Woodward has been here ever since Gill retired. He did well on the financial side but had been horrible on the football side. Its evident that he needs some urgent help on that side. Instead we refuse to hire a top quality DOF, we rely on an inexperienced manager and a pool of inexperienced coaches (Carrick, Mckenna etc). That's not incompetence. We are quite happy were we are.

TBF, i don't think it's arrogance - they're just clueless. They slow it done because nobody knows what the other players are doing. They're not on the same wavelength. Hence why everything is off the cuff and unnatural when they do try to so something.
