I'll reserve judgment on predicting Spurs league place until after the window has closed.
Very similar situation as what Rossi was with us, and we only got about a million more for him (and only because we did loan him out where he proved himself, which dos Santos doesn't want to do). Both young attackers with a lot of potential, but with their path into the first team blocked. Their clubs would like to keep them as backup, but both want regular starting spots.
Pique was the same as well.

Whereas Glaston is sure that Barca do not have a buy back clause with Dos Santos.

I don't think any club in Europe would sign someone with a buy back clause. I've certainly never heard of one being implemented.

No, I said earlier in the thread i've never seen him play so can't comment on his ability but the fact that Barca were willing to sell and for such a low price too tells me all I need to know.
Buyback clauses seem to be a fiction dreamt up by the creators of Football manager. Very difficult indeed from a contractual sense they would be irrelevant unless the player in question had his heart set on a move to a former club which (if a player was in good form) is highly unlikey.
Intruiging signing for spurs this. Seems to have some ability but has been overshadowed at Barca by Bojan and largely a dissapointment from what was expected.
He's found a good gaffer in Ramos but lets see if he can handle the PL.
Buy back clauses are generally put in when a big club (Barcelona) is selling a player to a small club (Tottenham)
If the said player leaves on good terms (i.e. he has requested a move and Barca have allowed it) i'm sure if he excels and is offered the chance to go back to the big club but as a first teamer he would accept.
Many clubs include them though they are very rarely used as it's not very often a big club will sell a player without realising the players potential. Most of the time they will go on to be nowhere near the quality that the selling club needs.
We'll just have to see with this, he's only just turned 19 and untested in the PL. It's got flop written all over it though there is the chance that Ramos has unearthed a gem and he will do well at Tottenham.

The 19-year-old Mexican international this week passed a medical and agreed terms to complete his move from Barcelona.
The versatile forward, who has five caps for his country and starred at the 2005 Under-17 World Championships and last year's Under-20 World Cup, is now full of excitement at the start of a new chapter in his career.
Giovani said: "It is a dream for me to come to a big club like Spurs. I've come here to further explore my qualities and give my all for my new team. As a young player I have come to a club where I feel there are many opportunities for me.
"I have been made to feel very welcome since arriving at Spurs and everyone has been very friendly. This is clearly a big club with a lot of ambition, and I can see it growing in the future.
"It is great to see Spurs fans wearing the shirt on the streets of London. I came here because of the passion of the fans as well as the size of the club, and I'm very much looking forward to playing in England."
Head Coach Juande Ramos, is looking forward to working with a player he is a long-term admirer of.
He said: "If Giovani progresses as we hope he will be a terrific player. This is a young player with a lot of potential, whom I have watched for some time and I am delighted he has joined the squad.
"For us it is an exciting signing because he has excellent quality, he operates well in different positions and, above all, is technically excellent."
Sporting Director Damien Comolli added: "Giovani possesses a great combination of physical power and explosivity, along with fine technical skills. He is someone who can create and score goals.
"He is young but not without experience and will be a great asset for the Club. The fact we have a Spanish speaking coaching staff, as well as Gilberto, will help him adapt, settle quickly and I believe he has the skills to be successful in England."

For that money, it's a very good signing by Spurs. He's a slight risk but one that could definitely pay off. From what I've seen of him, he seems to be technically very good with a bit of flair but lightweight; but he's young enough to be developed into a Premiership player.

Ramos will sort out any lingering nonsense - I don't think players will want to mess with him.
Bojan is the dogs bollox, his goal scoring record for someone his age is just phenominal.

Surely this lad has a future at Spurs? I know it was "only South Africa" but he was brilliant. Great touch and technique. He's surely worth Harry taking a punt on and giving him an opportunity.

I only saw one game he played for Spurs, and he really didn't look bad to me at all. He's also only 22, to write him off as not having the mentality at this stage is a bit premature I think.

In retrospect you can't really argue with the results Harry achieved with Spurs, but still Dos Santos does seem to bring that little extra creativity with the ball. Is there any indication of him leaving WHL? Could be a nice little creative outlet if they continue their development.

He only turned 21 last month, but yes he does have bags of potential.
At Spurs he reportedly had "lifestyle" problems, though IMO he's not yet been given a much of a chance under Harry. This is perhaps because of the reported problems, but maybe he'll outgrow these with age.
I'm unsure as to whether he'll be sold - with a price bumped up on the back of (hopefully) continued impressive WC performances - or brought back from his loan spell and given a 2nd chance. I'm equally unsure as to whether he can fit within the Spurs (or Prem) style of play or whether he's willing to compete for a starting spot against Modric, Kranjcar, Lennon, Bale etc

He clearly values playing for Mexico more than any club he plays for. I don't think I've ever seen him play badly for the Mexican's at any level.
If at club level he regularly played at the level he does for Mexico he'd fit in any EPL team. He is just frustrating that way.
