UEFA Champions League: 19:45

Vida is doubtful so I guess the team will be....

GK: VDS

RB: Brown
CB: Ferdinand
CB: Pique
LB: Evra

RM: Ronaldo
CM: O'Shea
CM: Scholes
LM: Giggs

CF: Tevez
CF: Rooney

Subs: PIG, Simpson, Evans, Fletcher, Anderson, Nani, Eagles.

I'd take 0-1 right now, Ronaldo with the goal

Fletcher ahead of O'Shea for me. Anderson eventually replacing one of the central midfielders after half time.

Should be a comfortable win, 1 or 2-0.

Rooney's on a roll, so I expect him to get on the score sheet again, along with Tevez and Ronaldo.

I'd take any sort of a draw

Nah, I'd want us to ensure qualification ASAP so that we don't depend on that Roma away leg. Our list of fixtures start getting tough after that game as we play the dippers three days later, so we'd want our players to be fit and raring to thrash the scousers.

---------------VDS
Brown---Pique----Rio-----Evra
-------Fletcher---Scholes
Ronaldo-------------------Giggs
-------Tevez-----Rooney

BENCH: Kuszczak, Anderson, O'Shea, Simpson, Nani, Eagles, Evans.

Anderson did well in our last two games, but IMO Fletcher offers more defensive solidity.

i'd be very happy with a 1-0 Rooney to score.

Seeing that Saha injured himself, AGAIN. Hoping Dong will be put as a reserve. Considering that performance VS Villa was the best so far this seaon, I reckon SAF will use the formation.

Straight 442, rest giggs and play anderson (he will have time and space in a game like this)

Lets win this, so we ensure qualification in the resturn fixture at OT
Id say 2-0 to us, Anderson and Rooney with the goals.

I agree except that Anderson will start with JOS on the bench. That would be useful as JOS can cover many positions if we have an injury.

dont really want to see this , but might happen .. fergie can do weird things

I don't see why Fergie would bench Tevez. He's been fantastic in our last two games.

I think that Anderson has got to start this game. He has performed admirably in his last two games and dropping him now would really dent his confidence. He is doing the right things so he should be rewarded for it.

We can't keep playing Tevez and Rooney up top every single game :nervous:

---------------VDS
Brown---Pique----Rio-----Evra
-------Fletcher---Scholes

BENCH: Kuszczak, Park, Giggs, hargreaves, Carrick, Nani, Saha.

Any way forget the bench. Interesting to see weather anderson or nani will be dropped. Anderson looks like a good passer and he keeps it well, that will be key in Kiev. Anderson playing in a 433 is beneficial because when we are defending he can play in a midfield 5 and when we are attacking we could play 442 with him on the wing.

Our away record in Europe isn't great. That said, I don't think Kyiv are as good a team as they were the last time we faced them in the 90's.

SAF will go for the extra midfield protection in Europe.

That's the lineup it should be. Anderson's done great but away in Europe we'll probably need the solid defensive play of Fletcher.

Tough game but I think we'll win 2-1 and considering the position that puts us in before we've even played Sporting and Kiev at home I'll be thrilled

Dinamo lost against Sporting at home, right?

I can see us getting the points there

SAF will go for the extra midfield protection in Europe.

Good team, I'd go for that as well, we shouldnt risk this game, a draw would suffice but I think we'll nick it. Anderson will have a chance to go forward and we can easily switch to 4-4-2 with Anderson on the left.

Vidic is doubtful, and I dont think its too big for Pique, he's been against the very best (No, not talking about Rooney and Ronaldo in training), even in his young age.

Brown has done alright at right back, if only he could beat the first player with the cross more often, he's rate at doing that is a bit embarrassing.

Its a shame to drop Giggs and Nani though, but thats gonna happen to all of all players, when we have all our players ready, Saha on the bench is a bit of a shame as well. But better having extra than lacking like previous years.

2-0, second goal coming late on to seal it.

Rooney to score again?

No logic in this prediction, but for some reason i fancy Kiev to hold us. 1-1. I'm not normally pessimistic, as on our form we should put Kiev away easily.

Fergie Aiming To Counter Dinamo In Kiev

Sir Alex Ferguson has already set his stall out on how Manchester United will play against Dinamo Kiev in midweek.

Due to Dynamo Kiev’s two defeats in the Champions League so far, they will have to come out and beat Manchester United in their next two Group E games, a fact that Sir Alex Ferguson will relish as it provides the perfect opportunity to maximise his team’s counter-attacking prowess,

“We’re in a good position with Sporting beating Dynamo Kyiv,” the Reds boss told Manchester United Radio.

“We’ve got Kyiv in the next two matches, home and away, but their two defeats mean they have to beat us, which is good.

"We can set our stall out to play the counter-attack.

“Dynamo Kyiv have always been a difficult side to beat, especially at home,” he added.

“We drew 0-0 against them there a few years ago. They’ll be a real handful.

“They have always been a club that has been able to produce good young players.

"Their set-up was designed purely to produce players. It's a fantastic training ground, one of the best in the world.

"We expect a tough game, but we’re in a good position."

Ferguson is not so sure though, on the likelihood of central defender Nemanja Vidic starting against Dinamo,

"I'm hopeful he will be ready," he*told reporters after the 4-1 win at Villa Park.

"We will see how he is. He will be close but I'm not sure if he will be ready to play in Kyiv."

The Reds take on Dinamo Kiev at Olympiyskiy Stadium, kick-off is 19:45 BST.

United's Reserves squad was also on the trip and they will play in a friendly against Dinamo Kiev's second string.

United squad: Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Ferdinand, Brown, Vidic, EVra, Pique, Simpson, O'Shea, Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs, Anderson, Nani, Fletcher, Eagles, Rooney, Tevez.

Play Nani instead of Giggs and bring on Fletch and O'Shea in the 2nd half

A draw is a good enough result as long as we keep winning our home games.

Agreed, but a win here well make our toughest game in the group, away to Roma, a hell of a lot easier.

If we win away, we well beat Kiev at home and probably beat Sporting at home as well. That's 15 points with one game remaining. That may mean we can give some players rest before the Pool game.
