City's number 10 shirt is basically up for grabs - well relative to United's anyway.

In Soviet Russia, if you do not give new Belgian boy shirt, we kill you.

Eden Hazard : "I have always dreamed of playing the number 10 role, and wearing that number on my back." #CFC #MUFC #MCFC

Ok, this may worry some people but it is quite possible that he means for Belgium, not a prospective club.

If he means clubs then our of Mata, Dzeko and Rooney. Rooney is the least likely to give up his shirt.

I wonder if these quotes are some shitty little hints towards us

Are you really suggesting that wages, history, prospects, staff he will work with, players he will work with and location will all come secondary to the number printed on the back of his shirt?

He's talking about being given the no. 10 shirt for Belgium. Some shitty attempt by some twitter moron to try and make a story out of nothing.

This could be the Kagawa link for us, Kagawa being a central player and playing in the position he wants to play could make him wonder what our intentions are.

It does make sense though and ties in with him wanting playing time. The last thing you'd want to do when you have options is sign for the club that is going to play you the least and in your least favourite position.

Who does he think he is? How about a player with choices?

Or... Hazard has already signed for City and is now operating as a secret spy to figure out our other transfer targets, so City can move in and outbid us for every single one of them.

Something to discuss for at least 3 pages.

On another note: Hazard said in the Belgian papers that he will decide his future after the international games, however this does NOT mean he will announce it at wembley or in a post match interview like some seem to believe here. 'After the international games' is most likely semewhere in the week after the England game.

When you start discussing football with random people, you quickly realsie the world is full of morons. These are easily spotted recently as they are the ones that believed Hazard would announce his future after Lilles last match, or even at Wembley.

Oh right, I see. I wish someone had explained this before

I just got in. Didn't realise it had always been established as bollocks.

To be fair the amount of stuff he's releasing and implying it's fecking hard to know.

I don't think he's saying a lot to be honest, just the general boring shite that players talk about. The papers are twisting his every word though to try and make stories from nothing.

You've all lost the fecking plot.

Does anyone actually believe a Shirt number will decide where he goes ?

I wish people would realise that he wont be coming to us, the sooner we take that on board the better. Im looking forward to Kagawa coming on board more realistic target. Still if I had my way I would make Bilbao a much richer club.

The game is in wembley right? If so someone should shove a microphone into his hand after the game and say to him, "now then motherfecker, time to tell all..."

Why? So many people have said this but they won't back it up.

Hazard is a good player, if we miss out, so be it. United will carry on without him and do so well. I know none of you suggest we will go under without him, but judging by this thread, we'd be relegated without him even though we practically finished joint champions this season.

Cant the mods just lock this till after the friendlies?

The reactions of some here will be worth it :D

I'll be totally guessing, now... He answered "Yes and no" to the question, if that result pleased him.

"Yes" because United won their match with Sunderland. "No" because in the end, City got the result.

When we tried to sign Shearer in 96, according to SAF's book Shearer insisted that he be allowed to take penalties and be given the no.9 shirt.

So yes. Don't underestimate the petty nature of footballers.

Ridiculous. Has he once said anything about the number 10, or number 7? I'm sure he just wanted assurances on where he would be playing and playing time. I could be mistaken, but I very highly doubt that he would move because somebody could give him a specific shirt number.

Eden is setting himself up to be either a massive fan favourite, or a huge enemy.

It's like he's standing on a see-saw between ronaldo an. Tevez, and whatever way the wind blows will decide his fate:nervous:

He has actually spoke about the number 10 shirt, but that was for Belgium and has also spoke about liking to play in a 'number 10' role. But the bit about his decision on what club to go to is helped by him having that particular shirt is news to me.

Pretty much everything he has said in the last few weeks has been exaggerated by great proportions so people think he is more of a media whore/troll than he actually is.

This thread is just full of people, emotionally tired of this whole saga.

Can't blame anyone for that... Next week Eden Hazard will release a press conference in the White House that will lead to conclusion on possible world war 3, middle east crisis and economic collapse but when asked, where he'll play, next season he'll say that he can't say because there is 5th club that entered the race or something like that.
