You sound resigned to the fact the season is over. Thats up to you, like u say to each his own. We are not in trouble we are on the top table with one, maybe two signings away from being where we belong. Although reading peoples posts you would think we were fecked. Like i said, if it wasnt for injuries i wouldnt need to remind tools like u that we are in good shape. Oh btw the seasons not over.

Is the season over yet bullish?

How can it be?

Was it over when we won the CL in extra time against Bayern?

Even if we lose the league on goal difference does this mean we are in decline, absolutely not. We have had a dreadful season injury wise and can only be better with a fitter squad compared to this year. How can we not be optimistic. Like I said we are one or two players away from being the best, how is that any different from any other year?

Regarding the stick I'm getting in this thread re transfers, we do not buy established world class stars as the norm, we buy the greatest options on talent and then let them progress, nothings new. Of course, sometimes, we buy big and sometimes they pay and sometimes not but thats the same for every club.

what agenda? to give a 19yo a chance? grow up ffs.

I was agreeing with you but for some unknown reason you find a way to spout off. We ARE in need of midfield cover and it would be great if we could shoe in a world class player immediately. The fact remains that it is not always that simple, we try to buy young and develop, however, this year has been an exception injury wise and we have had to bring Scholesy back.

We are still on the lookout and its not as bad as many posters are making it iut to be.

I was only joking because you said "the season isn't over" so many times :)

I do agree though, we are only a few players short of being at the top again.

My bad. Ive had the neg vibe myself after a game but the prognosis on the season is not as bad as some may think. Take your point though can be a bit repetatively optamistic sometimes. Occupational hazard being a shite motivational speaker.

Back on topic. French footie correspondent on Talkshite just now appeared to be making some sense on the Hazard transfer. He believes that it's his wage demands that City are mot sure about but City realise that if he doesn't got to them it'll be to us so a clever move on the agent's part to drive up his wages. City appear to hold all the cards on this one.Hazard's agent was at Woves and also the derby at the invitation of City.

Belhanda on the other hand is a better next option if Hazard doesn't become viable for either team. The next best talent in france next to Hazard. However the scousers have been sniffing about.

I reckon we're getting played here.

Yes could be, they have probably already made their mind up, to go for the money, so are maybe playing us to fleece City into submission.

Losing this one would be a big blow as he's the kind of spark that shits up defenders, we desperately need a player like him, whereas at City everyone will want to be the hero (Aguero, Silva, Nasri and Tevez all like to take on players), he won't stand out as he would in our team, although he would definately take city up a notch. :(

I wouldn't worry about them.

What's worse is that Joe Cole has been singing this lad's praises for a bit now and reckons Hazard will be the world's best player in a couple of years....that's a lot of praise:eek:

High praise from Better Than Messi indeed

Exactly. I'm sure of it.

One thing i do not get is, if he had chosen City, asits all ready been announced that he's leaving by his club, and coming to England, why keep it quiet, City would want to do a Tevez on us, to Rub it in, would want to try to get under fergie's skin before the last game. i'm just a little optimistic that he may choose us hence the quietness on his part (as we would prefer that, as we chase other targets for other positions, as not to inflate prices of those targets).

maybe i'm just clutching at straws and this is another Essien, Benzema, Silva, Nasri, Sanchez, scenario. Ever since Ronnie went, we seem to put on a Big Show for our fans, that Yes we're after this high profile target (last year Sanchez for example), only for us to back down after a few weeks, the bit about Fergie coming out was strange, he hardly done that before now, its a like a regular thing, maybe thats all part of the game.

seems like he's already getting his excuses in,

54 pages and he's off to them. A thousand hearts will be breaking in the next few days.

Nobody apart from me expects him to join us actually, most are saying he's gonna join City, so no "heart breaking" will take place. Anyway where have you've heard that he's off to them?

Let's be honest, the moment they showed interest he was off to them.

We can only get better next season, leagues not over and fergie said we will buy, good times ahead.

As long as we don't do what we always do. Putt all our eggs in one basket then when it doesn't come off just forget about anything else. I really hope whilst working on Hazard we are also working hard to get Lucus.

City are desperate to get him though. He is the next big thing, wants to play in England and City are kinda in the drivers seat in terms of signing him. So they won't let him go easily.

Have a feeling he will flop, massively. I know he has done nothing to suggest this but I don't think he will justify his price tag/wages.

Not sure you ever saw him play

Hazard is the type of game-changer groomed in French Ligue 1 to bless the PL with their talent. He's a notch above the Drogba who moved to Chelsea. He's in the Cantona / Henry kind of bracket
Or Anelka. A player, with such promise, choosing to whore himself in order to satisfy his agent and get a big transfer.

Lets be honest, its gonna be seriosuly depressing when he signs for City.

You are hoping he would flop if he goes to City just to make yourself feel better.

Or, I genuinely think he won't be a success in this country and have never been excited by him or the possibility of him signing thus my lack of posts in this thread.

Your call, either way, don't presume anything about what I am thinking if that is ok with you ?

It is ? Excellent.

Manchester City have been better than us. They have beaten us easily twice in the league (putting 6 past us at OT and not a shot on target at the Etihad is easily in my book)

We chased the game a man down at home and got shipped for 6. Fair enough in that regards I'll never see that as a thrashing (in my United supporting eyes), I won't try and change anyones mind however if they want to say we got thrashed then fair enough..

On the back of the Etihad game we we're a jammy corner goal away from spawning a draw. We may not of created anything in attack but we set out to get at least a point and had there have been no stoppages in the first half it may just have happened.

You're also forgetting the fine displays for good periods in the Community Shield and the FA cup. I'm not going to describe the gap between the two clubs at the minute. Maybe in 5 or 10 years we can look back on it but in a season where we've just bottled a commanding league position that would have kicked them in the nuts and made the investment pointless it has to be remembered.

I think over the season they have looked more impressive, apart from the period where we raced in front of them until Tevez came back for them. Our games in general this season have been a bit dull, most of the time getting one or two early goals and just seeing the game out instead of going for more (apart from the opening part of the season).
This season as well we didn't seem to have our famous comeback spirit, in fact we picked up the least amount of points from losing positions in the whole league (only 3 points) Thats pretty shocking by our standards.

At face value we've been horrid this year.
Equal on points tells you a lot, however.

.....When French television station Canal+ mischievously asked whether Hazard prefers red or blue, the question drew a non-committal response from the highly-rated prospect.

"I like both," he replied. "They're both nice colours. I think they both suit me."

All this talk about a big blow. Were we ever in for him?

I think Rene mentioned he was a special talent, and didn't SAF go to watch him a few weeks ago?

It might be a plan to get City to go for him so we can then go for our main target of Gaitan.
