The same Wayne Rooney who continually looks on the periphery of a game when he plays for England compared to being the vital cog for his club side? The one with the incredible recovering male pattern baldness? Yes that one.
Not getting into an argument whether Rooney is better for his club or his country, it's his club and it's not debatable.
He will probably play as many bad/good games for club and country but as we see more of him here we get a better sample of performance levels imo. Plus at club level you'd expect slightly higher levels of performances, as they are used to each other so they know each others games better. Plus in general they are playing with better players.
I would honestly laugh if all clubs in for him just said feck off Hazard and he remained a Lille player. Obviously I would later regret it, but the fecking hype surrounding this guy is setting him up for a big fall. I really don't know if the lad is going to be able to match up to the footballer we are expecting him to be?
Maybe people should have lower expectations. After all transfer fees do not make a player

What? He was the first real no 7, and it was his performances for over a decade that iconized the number.
Best may have been the first to bring acclaim to the number, but not definitively, im sure he also wore 11. Shirt numbers were usually defined back then by the position you played in the team. I am fairly sure Robson was the first to wear that number and no other, and considering the length of time and the manner in which he wore it, surely he should be credited for establishing the legend, for the other 'products' to continue.
A strange view on Robbo that Pexbo. He was the only shining light for Utd, during a time of Liverpool domination. He epitomised everything a footballer should be imo, and for England he was also an inspirational Captain, poster boy and national hero. Utd's greatest ever midfielder and Captain imo, not a successful as Keane granted. But for me during my childhood, he was a hero in ever sense of the word, and the only man ever to take up wallspace in my bedroom. A feat i am certain will never again be repeated!![]()
Yeah, he's (Robbo) the only united player I truly associate with the number 7.
Manchester United have won the race to sign Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard according to press reports in France.
The list of interested parties in the Lille star is a long one with Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs from the Premier League joining the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona who are all looking to land the 21-year-old.
Despite the riches on offer and the pick of Europe's elite clubs, French source Le10sport.com claims that when the transfer window opens next month Hazard will join Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford rather than move to any of the other interested parties.
I really don't feel he gets the recognition he deserves - maybe because we have a lot of younger fans. But when you remember his performances ! I can't remember a bad one
Am I right in saying pretty much every media outlet has said he's joining us during this short saga so far?
Surely one of them must be right...
Sport journalists are widely acknowledged for their great insight on transfers, I see no reason to doubt their integrity.Am I right in saying pretty much every media outlet has said he's joining us during this short saga so far?

Yes but most of them have quoted some other article as their source and usually a day or two after that article originated on the other site they've quoted from so while it looks like it is new news because of the date of the new article it isn't.
Take that article Summit posted for example. It was made today, but looking at Le10sport, the last time they talked about Hazard on there choosing us was the 23rd.
It's ridiculous to start with a statement which implies fact
"Manchester United HAVE won the race..."
Then go on to say
"Le10sport.com CLAIMS..."
Stupid, utterly stupid.
Messi played well at the world cup. This whole he played shit thing is a myth
Take it to a Messi thread. Sick and tired of hearing about him.
I'm not expecting much to come of this, even if we do sign him I'll probably be skeptical for a few days.
The prick teasing continues, dirty filthy fecking prick teaser.
And you love him for it.

Hazard is on record himself as saying he'll announce the deal by 2 June friendly.

(2/2) He feels he can be "the man" at Old Trafford. But United are concerned about Kompany's influence over the next week with Belgium.

Bit of new info re Hazard. Apparently he is concerned that City have too many stars around his position. (1/2)

Ok, but this is a quote from a well known journalist, who will probably write something about this in a newspaper tomorrow. Not a "bloke from a pub tweet"![]()
