You gain prestige, a good performance against a stronger team might be all that it takes to make a few players noticed and more valued in the market. Plus, the points will be useful when you next qualify for CL again and remain top-seeded in a playoff or better placed in the group stages. Last but not least, your players will welcome the international experience for the future.
