Europa League 2015/2016

Well, Moreno is more suited to a wingback roll, but I've no idea how Ibe will do on the opposite side.

Don't mind Lallana & Coutinho playing in a two behind a striker - I just don't think Origi is the striker we should be selecting for what is our toughest game in this Europa League group. Just field Benteke, damnit.

It'll be 3-4-2-1 for Liverpool: Mignolet; Gomez, Toure, Sakho; Ibe, Rossiter, Can, Moreno; Lallana, Coutinho; Origi. Confirmed by James Pearce and several others.

Sigh.

 What an absolutely cnuting lineup. Toure in the heart of our defence with only baby-Ross and Can'tRun Can as protection. That's like putting a condom full of holes on to an impotent man. As a result we'll quickly fall into 5 at the back for the whole game, leaving Origi in Benteke-land on his own.

Oh well, at least I get to see Origi which is what I've been waiting for eagerly for nearly a year. And Ibe of course, as right (not wing) back.

I really don't understand the thinking behind leaving behind so many players in Liverpool for tonight: they are playing in France not fecking Russia, and on Sunday they have a home banker against one of their favourite punching bags in Norwich - play your damn first team and try to build something ffs, or at the very least give the travelling fans their money's worth. This is still a European competition, and has the prize of Champions League qualification at the end of it.

Also, just how fecking hideous is the BBC's choice of photo for Brentan here?

:lol::lol::lol:

I can only agree, Antisocial. This is our toughest game of the group, and we've had four days to prepare since the United game... Going out and winning this would be huge for us right now, and would set us up perfectly for the rest of the group. The suggested team is the kinda thing you field vs Rubin Kazan (away) while you have a 4 point gap at the top of the group.

Go and try to win this damn competition.

Yep its official. Horrendous lineup. What's with Rodgers and Europe? I remember last year resting some of your best players against Real Madrid in the CL. The whole point of going into the CL is to face the best teams and put out good, strong sides yet that took the piss. You ended up losing just 1:0 and played quite well but still, imagine what could have happened with a first choice team?

That line up is horrid, resting players is fine but Bordeaux are no pushovers, they'll win this game comfortably, 2/3-0.

Bogdan, Firmino, Ings, Brannagan, Randall, Cleary, Chirivella on the bench

Only heard of 3 of those players!

I don't have a clue, but he has definitely lost me by now. Stuff like Real Madrid away last year and tonight is what might cost him his job in the end, and I really hope it's going to be rather sooner than later. Mind you, we still have a decent chance to win our game tonight, but it's madness to line up like that for the first time this season with those players, and it's equally as crazy to leave your best players and Lovren at home as well while they could really do with the confidence boost you get by winning a European away game.

Even worse that means Lovren's probably starting at weekend

He's an idiot. There's absolutely no reason to not play our best squad for this, our toughest Europa league game, with Norwich on the weekend. If he wants to play a limited squad, he can do so vs Carlisle in the cup.

Looks like BVB know how to pick a team to win the match. Aubameyang is too damn fast (on Fifa 15).

England are in coefficient trouble so I want Pool and spurs to do well in El, I think confidence can be a major thing in sport and someone like a Kane took an incredible amount of confidence from scoring lots of goals in the EL last season so it's just silly to take it lightly

I have backed Liverpool not to lose and no goals in the first 15 minutes so get your bets on lads!

Did you see our back three? You've more chance of winning if you bet for us to lose and a goal under 15.

Empire Of The Kop said:
Despite losing two consecutive Premier League matches, the Reds boss has left first-teamers such as James Milner, Christian Benteke, Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren at home – meaning a number of Liverpool stars will earn their first start of the campaign.

“We respect them greatly,” Rodgers said, despite his expected team selection. “We have enough experience here as well as some young players. It’s a chance to play players who need games. Hopefully that will get us a result. I have every confidence whatever team we put out can win the game. It’s about getting the performance level right. If we do that we’ll get results. I want to see greater control and greater creativity. This is a tournament we want to do well in.”

ffs

Take a good look Leverkusen and Wolfsburg. Thats how a stadium in an European night is supposed to look like...

No idea why Liverpool are treating the Europa league so poorly. They've a better chance of getting back into the champions league winning this competition than finishing top 4, it would also provide a much needed trophy for Rodgers.

Get sad every time I see van Persie. He should've still been here. :(

Apparently Liverpool playing in France for the 14th time tonight. They must be shattered.

Dortmund gone a goal down too.

BBC Sport posted a tweet from the Boring James Milner account and I think they believe its actually James Milner.

The Liverpool vice-captain not playing tonight, but watching at home, it seems. Brendan Rodgers on the bench already scribbling away on his notepad.

"Must remember to get milk, bread and biscuits."

Krasnodar takes the lead against Dortmund.

Haha, just seen Dortmunds group, looks like war plans out of Hitlers pocket in 1941. From Greece over Krasnodar to the oil fields in Azerbaijan.
Well they should turn it up a bit if they want to do better. Park not justifying his start so far.
