Europa League 2015/2016

"Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the spanish always win."

Is it still 5-0 to Valencia? They were excellent from what I saw of the first half.

This hasn't been anywhere near good enough from us. The reasoning for playing our strongest team was that we would win by a couple of goals allowing us some breathing room for the second leg. I've seen enough of Augsburg tonight to know that they are capable of getting a score draw at Anfield and knocking us out.

Bookies having United and us as 3th and 4th favorites to win the EL is a joke, we can't even beat a relegation threatened Augsburg who're playing without their best striker.

1. It shows how bad Villa really are
2. I have a serious dislike of Klopp.

Number 2 is not important to the debate but, it's good to throw it in there

Ft Leverkusen deserved the win. We didn't take the game seriously, terrible attitude.

FT 0-0. Deserved to come back with an away goal, but Augsburg were quite plucky defensively and had some chances themselves. Now we have to win 2-0 at least at home, can't allow to get them an away goal which at Anfield these days is quite easy for anyone.

Jesus, Chelsea lose to PSG, we lose to this shit, both Tottenham and Liverpool draw their matches, when are they taking 4th place CL from us again?

I don't know how Schalke didn't win against Shakhtar in Ukraine. They had lots of chances.

Well, they got screwed by the ref (Karma is a beautiful thing) and lack cutting edge without a Huntelaar in good form. Sané once more showing that while being highly talented he ist still extremely raw and lacks maturity in his play.

I very much doubt that Klopp was this naive.

Nah he surely wasn't although it would've been nice to have the tie over after tonight which unfortunately isn't the case. We don't have another game 'till the return leg next Thursday so that's probably why he fielded our strongest team. I just hope the players get some time off right now until Monday or something like that but doubt that'll be the case.

Not surprised Liverpool played their strongest team. They don't have a game in the weekend. No point in resting any players.

I don't mean that 2-0 would have been enough but I think he expected a better result tonight from the team he selected. Going away in Europe and winning the first leg by two or more goals would have meant less pressure to chase the game at Anfield. Now we'll have to play our strongest side again to try and get through, three days before the League Cup Final.

Anyway it was pretty poor in my opinion tonight. We never had control of the game in the first half and weren't clinical enough in the final third during the second. Positives were Firmino playing well again and keeping a second consecutive clean sheet.

Not really an amazing night for the English sides although Spurs can say they got a positive result at least.

I feel the Europa is upping its prestige. There's a lot of talk going round of taking it seriously. But for me it's like the Championship but with a better brochure.

Needless to say that tomorrow is a huge is a huge night for us. With less than a three day turn around before a cup final against a superior team, this is a game we have to get won in the 90 minutes, without injury, and without drama...

Will that happen? Probably not - I'm putting money on Sturridge breaking something. I do think we'll win the match, though.

If we go out of the EL tonight, our season, after this Sunday, is over.

Napoli, Dortmund, Spurs, Liverpool, Sevilla, Shakhtar, Sporting etc..

Quite a lot of good teams will still be left in the competition even after tonight.

That penalty should have been called back, how many players in the box before Milner hit it?
