Europa League 2015/2016

Leverkusen are the most un-German German team ever.

Completely lack any fight when up against it and completely flop when expectations are high for them.

Expectations were high for Leverkusen? Whose expectations? People that haven't seen Villarreal play this season?

Well, good thing no United supporter will probably watch the German coverage of our game now. Commentator: "Lloris is probably the best keeper in the league, well next to Joe Hart and Petr Cech" ;)

The goal that knocked Valencia out. Wonderful flick and goal but handball in the build up.

Rose on for Davies after the latter was knocked out by the best keeper in the league.

Well, he is certainly clueless, but I find him oddly entertaining. Just don't take anything he says seriously.

Hats off to the home support btw. Best atmosphere in Eng!and I have witnessed in awhile.

Auba just got ten million pounds more expensive iin the EPL.

1:0 !!
ok so, tottenham can now relax and learn what is good football. just like in the first game.
but remember: the pl is sooo physicaly and fast!!

only hear the bvb fans.
what is that for an audience there?

edit: now there was an "AHHHH, OHHHH" ..wow

Oh, come off it please. Of course they are gutted after Auba killed any hope for them. Before that they created nice atmosphere. It was no different in Porto and the truth is, that if the roles were reversed the only thing in the Westfalenstadium you would hear from us is the South. Tottenham does not have the luxury of having such an initiator for atmosphere. Their stadium is not even half our size aswell.

Spanish teams really are great in Europe. Sevilla, Villarreal, Bilbao, Atletico, Barcelona and Real Madrid all in the quarter finals of European football. Is the only Spanish team out of Europe this season, Valencia?

yeah, but it proved my impressions from other pl-games: it sounds like a tennis-match. no ultras, no loud support like everwhere else. combine this with the ticket prices, this is one point for me why the pl cant be the best league in terms of entertaining. the sport (skills, tactics) part is the other thing, just like everyone can see in this game and in the game before, tottenham has no chance.

Our last hopes in Europe are Liverpool and City.

Come on you foreign teams! Batter them English bastards!

You won´t see me argue about the differences in fan culture in stadiums between the Bundesliga and the EPL. Thing is, though, as long as there was even a little bit of hope left for Spurs, the atmosphere was fine, certainly not worse than in German stadiums of that size (well except maybe cult clubs like Union Berlin or St. Pauli). This game should not be used as an example in favour of German fan culture.

Should be, yeah and in a Spanish duel aswell. Their depth in the top third is crazy good. I said it in this thread before. We will have to defeat at least two Spanish sides to claim the title (one of them probably in Basel). Without us, which normally would not play EL, the favourites would be all Spanish.

i just want to add: if you think of our 3:0 against real madrid, where we had to handle to same defeat, the audience in the whole westfalenstadion was different to that today at white hart lane ;-)

What do you mean? We played extremely well and nearly turned the tie. Reus had one of his best performances in his career. That's totally different situation and quite frankly our 80k/65k temple is hardly the measure stick here.

Are you kidding me ref? Stretched leg from behind into Mkhitaryan and it's not even a foul. Thank God the tie is over so the cnut can't feck it up.

Posting here so it doesn't get lost in the match thread but Origi should be ahead of Sturridge now. Another poor game from Sturridge.

Why are Dortmund fans on a Manchester United forum talking about their match with Tottenham?

Because its my favourite football forum and one of the best moderated around? Am I not allowed to post in the "Europa league" thread (in the general football section) about an Europa league tie?

Wohooo, Braga ahead 3-1. Would be great if a 'smaller' portuguese side go through.

just out of curiosity is there a BVB forum like this one?

Don't know about Dortmund specifically, but most German forums are quite heavily moderated and with very strict rules. If this forum would be moderated by the guys of transfermarkt, which is the largest football forum worldwide as far as I'm aware, half of the users here would be banned for offtopic/uneeded threads/not posting in the right thread/offensive images/offensive language and loads of other stuff. Seriously.

None of this quality, that much is certain and certainly not in size either. They are ones, but they are either really biased or have gone downhill in terms of discussions. It is no coincidence that there are so many Germans on here, especially recently. In my case I like to use it to keep my English fresh aswell.

In general it is one of the very few places on the net left, where you can discuss with rival fans in an orderly manner. There will always be banter, but at least some respect is normally there.

Fenerbahce getting spanked by Braga  4-1. I warned they were strong at home
