Agree, and I am very sad that Utd are involved in this. It’s probably the start of the end of lower league football and is of the utmost greed. Obviously talks with Sky , clubs, agents has been going on for some time. Disgrace !!

This is the same Bayern that gobble up all the young talent from the teams below them and dominate the league year on year and have won the league 8 times in a row since 2013.

Their owners have sacrificed a fortune by staying away from this league. Then again, Bayern is a majority fan-owned club so it's not surprising they value integrity ahead of financial gain.

The sooner we rid our club of the Glazers the better.
 
So, how many of our players will have their contracts cancelled and can walk for free?

Yep. It is literally that. Clubs competing purely based on their name and revenue, no consequences to losing and no meaning to winning it.

It is a bunch of billionaire twats that can't comprehend their plaything doesn't get to play in the Champions League the next year if they have a bad season. Much better to have a guranteed spot so you don't have to invest as much each year while keeping more profits, who cares where you finish.

Because Nasser Al-Khelaifi is also the chairman of Bein media group which has UCL TV rights, he's on the UEFA executive comitee and Qatar hosts the WC so they don't want to mess with FIFA too much. Lots of reasons.

Imagine being a player at one of these clubs and not knowing what’s going on and then reading this. Surely there’s going to be chaos at the clubs involved until all this becomes clear. Can imagine some players are properly kicking off behind the scenes.

The refs will be interesting if this ever happens. I presume any official who takes part in the Super LEague will be banned from all UEFA and FIFA competitions.

You can remove the titles but you can't erase the memories so that's pointless.

It's the owners that need removing but that's pretty much impossible to do, unfortunately we are one of the many groups of fans that have lost our club. United hasn't been a fans club for over 20 years but we still held on to some of our identity, today that identity and the history are in complete tatters as the Glazers finally get what they set out for from day one. The cash pig has potentially found them a bottomless pit, not content with a vast amounts of money made in the Premier League and Champions league they want their cakes and eat it.

I actually feel slightly ashamed at what has become of United, but part of me isn't surprised in the slightest. Liverpool on the other hand have been happy with how FSG have been running the ship so today has been like a hammer blow to the head for them.

A Champions League with the likes of Bayern, Porto, Ajax, Napoli, Dortmund, Marseille, Roma, Celtic, Rangers, Benfica, Valencia, Sevilla etc with proper competition and qualification requirements could be more attractive for many than watching the super dull, super greedy clubs playing the same teams over and over again all year for the next 20 years with little/no variation.

Hopefully FIFA/UEFA stick to their guns - if they do, this whole miscalculation could prove ruinous to the American owners of these clubs.

As for the players, yes the financial rewards will be significant, but I'd bet that there will be a significant number of top players who will want to play for the country in a World Cup/Euros/Copa America etc, who will turn their backs on this fiasco.

Next thing that needs to happen now is ban all the teams involved from the remaining CL, EL and domestic leagues. Strip them of all points and void all their remaining games as 0-3 against them. Yes, including us.

Thanks for that info, I wasn’t aware of that. I suppose the big 4 in England didn’t anticipate the level of competition in the league today, which had made euro football harder to achieve. Of course it wouldn’t be a problem if United and arsenal weren’t so inept this decade.

You will see contracts cancelled everywhere as this is absolutely a change in conditions brought on by the actions of the employer.

There's no turning back from this. These clubs have crossed the line. It will be near impossible to fix the relationship with UEFA if everything is canceled.

Either this competition goes through or the board of all the 12 clubs will have to leave.

I wonder how being out of the UCL effects contractual obligations/stipulations. Surely most top players have things in their contracts regarding UCL.

Not saying its better. I really don't think it matters that much either way this goes. Champions League is pretty much already a closed up shop and UEFA/The Clubs is throwing the toys out of the pram because they are set to lose a lot of money.
 
Honestly all the 12 clubs should be threatened to have deducted tons of points if they don't withdraw.
