He is wrong though. We are essentially talking about an NFL type of structure, in that structure the quality of the product is what drives revenues and these owners are in it for money. So like with the NFL, they will invest financially in order to have the most lucrative venues and the most entertaining product. This isn't a lazy/dumb money grab but the ulimate sophisticated money grab, the NFL being the reference and owners do everything to make sure that TV are paying for it and people watching it.

I know everyone's terribly excited about this banning business but National Teams don't need UEFA's blessing to compete in a World Cup or Euro Cup, they can simply create one that isn't affiliated to them.

It has nothing to do with that, the German clubs know that the fans who hold the major vote would never support this shit.
This is not about heroism - whether UEFA/FIFA stand up to this clubs because they want to protect the integrity of the game or because it is in their own self interest to do so, I don't much care. I hope that they take a stand, though.
If they are prevented from ever again being selected for their countries in international competition (while clubs like Bayern, PSG, Porto, Ajax, Dortmund, Valencia, Roma etc remain open as options for them), yes, they might.
The players are in a bad position here. I wonder if they have grounds to break their contracts if it comes down to having to forego international football if they play for their teams in the SL. It seems like a major enough change from the conditions and circumstances under which they signed their contracts.

This will only be a good thing in Glazers eyes. Players get injured while playing for their National Teams and they play too many games. So this will make Glazers happy. They only care about the chances of making more money - nothing else matters.

It doesn't matter what argument you make for the Super League. You can conjure up a billion pros, but if the one con is that 12-15 teams permanently have access to a competition that gives them a financial advantage over every other team in existence, all of your pros are compeletely null and void. It's financial doping wrapped in legal clothing.

How do Barca and Madrid fans feel about this? If all fans of the big clubs vote with their feet surely it's a death knell for the ESL, even if the oily gits try to make up for the shortfall. No fans, no merchandise, no TV subscriptions and most importantly no sponsors/advertisers willing to cough up.
That is why surely the likes of the PFA will get involved.

PA report as follows: “Grimsby have responded to the proposed launch of the super league by offering fans of the English clubs involved the chance to trade in their shirt for a Mariners one. The ‘shirt amnesty’ is open to holders of any Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham or Chelsea shirts that are less than three seasons old. In return the club are offering a replica 2020-21 Grimsby shirt, with the unwanted Premier League kits to be donated to local youth groups and humanitarian projects in Africa.
