Everton v Manchester United

Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Brown, Jonathan Evans, Evra, Valencia, Fletcher, Carrick, Park, Rooney, Berbatov. Subs: Foster, Owen, Vidic, Scholes, Rafael Da Silva, Obertan, Gibson

Good to see Berbatov given the start this time. VIdic on bench is good news too.

5.30pm games must be pretty late, and Champions League?

Again, if you have a normal 9-5 job it would be difficult to stay up for these (weekends would probably be easier though).

530pm OK on weekends as its about midnight, but yeah CL a nightmare as its 4am - 6am!! I normally record and then wake up early and watch before I go to work

Starting line up according to MUTV:

VDS
G Neville
Brown
Evans
EVra

Fletcher
Carrick
Park
Valencia

Berbatov
Rooney

Not sure about that defence. lacks star quality. Midfield will need to win this one for us.

Interesting decision to play the 4-4-2. I reckon we'd have gone 4-3-3 but had no third midfielder (Giggs Injured, Anderson in the reserves, Scholes played 90 minutes in Milan). Hopefully thats a blessing in disguise.

Neville errrm makes me :nervous:
You make it sound as if 433 is our default formation. The last 3 games against them we've played with 2 strikers..

We need to score first.

We have not lost a game that we scored first in. If they score then the odds favor a draw. I like Fergie's team but am worried about our defence. Hopefully Berba and Rooney can give us a lead and we can shut them down and take the 3 points.

Gary Neville worries me today. The Everton side have pace - our Gary doesn't!
I can see Berbatov been really good today, don't know why, just think he is desperate to put on a display.....here's hoping eh?

Either he plays well and won't score or provide direct assists or he plays like shit and get on the score sheet.

SAF has just praised Everton in the pre match interview on Sky. Not taking this one lightly at all.

I have a feeling Saha will make us regret letting him leave.

TBH, when Saha was here and always injured, a lot of folk were saying we should let him go. We weren't to know he'd go to a different club and be a re-born player. It actually wasn't down to not being fit, SAF said on occasion it was a mental thing with Saha. Maybe after time, he just couldn't get his head around playing for a club like United.

FFS have some belief in Gary Neville, we are talking about one of the all time great full backs here. He might not be the fastest but his positional sense is second to none.
He will be just fine.

5 man midfield for Everton, looking for Pienaar/Donovan to support Saha.

We've got Park and Valencia to cover the forward runs. Surprised Diouf's not on the bench

It's expected on here. Be it Neville, Park or somebody else. There's always a pick in the starting eleven that people moan about. I say let's just wait and see.

Can I just say I love the Neville brothers. Both captains, both standing in front of their teams and they aren't even acknowledging each other. I love that :D
