Everton v Manchester United

Rooney's off his game so far, hopefully he'll remember who he is in the second, Berba doing well and Valencia having a good time of it down the right wing. We've showed good signs and I'm confident enough of stepping it up in the second half and leaving with the three points.

didnt Evans try to find Evra on the ground but misplaced it?

nope when given such a shite pass originally the failure of our centre halfs first time pass under pressure shouldnt be the criteria used to say hes playing shite.

Nervy at the back yes but anyone with any clue of what it takes to play away from home against a decent opponent will tell you our problem is midfield.

Im sure that wont stop the usual e-experts calling for his 22 year olds head :boring:

Scholes is one the player who can change the current midfield problem

Evans under pressure is giving me nightmares. I'd have Vidic on at half time, try and get the defence more solid. Rooney hasn't been in the match at all, but there's still 45 minutes to go. I won't be complaining if he grabs the winner whilst having a shite match.

We started well, they got a good goal then they got their tails up. Come on United.

very even game. wish Rooney had scored that chance.
SAF will wait till the 65 min for a sub, or make a change according to the result

hows this for dedication..im sitting up in my hotel room (circus circus) in vegas, its 4.30am and im watching the game on the laptop in the dark. hope we win!! evans looking poor

Valencia's been our best player in the 1st half IMO

Without question.

Berbatov's been good too.

Our whole back-line has been terrible, yes, even Evra.
Neville's probably been the best of the four, which is worrying in itself.

We need some control - Fletcher and Carrick must step it up, though to be fair they're not having much help from Brown and Evans who keep hoofing it up field and losing possession.

Rooney did not run at the defenders much this half, he will be a nightmare in the second half as the defenders start to tire.

Our defence is really awkward. Teams have now understood that if they press our defence enough, we will really struggle to create anything. And Rooney is having a bad game but count on him to pley better in the second half.

Rooney has a 'mare when partnered with Berbatov. No coincidence. One of them needs to be sold quickly.

I think the problem is more in central midfield than the defence... no one is showing for the ball.

Berbatov has been excellent. Wish I could say the same about our defence. Evans and Brown look shakey and keep hoofing the ball away and inviting pressure. Neville is a liability and both Fletcher and Carrick have been very quiet. Rooney needs to have a stronger second half. At times his first touch has been very ordinary.

Everton could easily take all 3 points here. We need to come out and impose our will in the second. I have no doubt we can do it. Time to show them what champions are made off!

Rooney has not been his usual self in this half. He really has been poor. Berba has done a better job than Rooney. Our midfield apart from Valencia have really not been involved in our attacks. We need to get Carrick involved. Scholes would have been a perfect player for this kind of match. Their is just way to much space for them to operate in our midfield.

Our defense has been bad this half and unless Brown and Evans get their act together, we wont go much further in this match. I mean this is another mistake from Evans for their first goal. He should not have come so far out - it was Evra's position and he just came too far out. I m hoping Vidic will come on in the second half.

We are doing fine. Defence is still shaky (hardly a surprise) and Carrick and Fletch have been less imposing than we have come to expect. Valencia and Berb look sharp, Park is working hard as is Neville. Rooney has miscontrolled at times but still looks easily capable of scoring. They have given it a right good go first half and played well with a decent home support behind them - fair play to them. I think Moyes will be gutted that they have not gone in ahead as they had the more clear cut chances in the first half. It could still go either way but there is certainly, potentially, much more to come from us in the second. We can go on and win this if we play anywhere near our potential in the second half.

No need for kneejerk reactions; an entertaining game against a very good side.

Berbatov and Valencia far and away the best players on the pitch so far; hope they keep this up.

It really is anyone's game in the second half, I just hope we stand up and be counted - we all know Rooney could spark at any moment.

I imagine we'll see Vidic and Scholes at some point too.

Trying to press the claim that Everton should have had a penalty.

How many times this match have the Everton fans squealed for this, or for that. They sound like screaming cats at times.

We are being far too predictable with the centre of the midfield being bypassed and going to Valencia far too much so easy for Everton to read us. It is all well and good moaning at Fletcher and Carrick but they are not getting much support in the midfield from Park/Valencia so are being overrun at times. When Fletcher has had the ball he has been pinging about the passes trying to make things happen but just not happening yet. Carrick is trying as well but hard when you are outnumbered in midfield with the formation Everton have set out and slow support to our centre midfielders is making their job very hard.

Defence does need to settle down as they seem very twitchy today and the errors from midweek have followed us to this game which isn't helping the team settle. Up front we are doing ok just hard for them to play very well if our midfield is not having the time they need or numbers to control the game from there. If we can get the midfield supported better it should hopefully help the forwards to start causing them more problems in their defence.

We need to start keeping the ball. When they press us, we give them the ball.

Rooney's touch has been poor and just hope in the second half he turns it around - the game is there for him to take.

Vidic on for Evans to start the half IMO. Maybe his confidence is shot, I don't know (plus maybe a threat on one of our many corners).

Carrick and Fletcher need to get in the game.

Everton are playing well but, they are attacking and are there to be carved open if we can get some possession and composure.

Watch Rooney do feck all for another 44 minutes, then grab the winner in the 89th minute. ;)

Park hasn't been good, it looks like his legs have gone after the Milan game. Get Obertan on to stretch their left side a bit

He's scored most of his goals this season in the last 20 or so minutes of matches, and has generally been better in the 2nd half of matches. So not too concerned with our attack or wide play, it's Fletcher/Carrick and Evans/Brown that have me worried at the moment.

I have a feeling berba will score. 3-3.

I have very little confidence in our defence at the moment.
