Everton vs. Man United

What do you think the reaction will be if Moyes does lose this?

I mean, the guy is invincible. If he's not been sacked now, no result is going to change that and yet the media keeps tip toeing around him and apologising for him.
The last remaining hope is that there's a clause for champions league football in his contract, so he might get sacked at the end of the season or season or when it's mathematically impossible to make it. A loss to Everton though would make things pretty hostile with the fans and maybe even the squad.

I'm beginning to feel nervous that moyes will do the dumb thing and leave kagawa on the bench despite him being our best player lately. He'll probably start welbeck and Valencia on the wings and question why we're playing shit, despite the answer being leaving the key player on the bench.

If he leaves out Kagawa it's time for an online petition for the sacking of David Moyes time

Kagawa isn't a key player. You're insane and, quite honestly, don't know what you're talking about if you'd begrudge Welbeck or Valencia a start after their performances against Bayern.
I'd start them both. You're the one who has no idea what you're talking about if you can't see that kagawa was our best player against them both legs, or how he links everything together and just makes us play better overall. Kagawa deserves to start more then anyone after his recent performances.

Also yeah he isn't a key player for moyes, though that's because of his stupidity because he really should be, he's up there with our best players after mata/rvp/Rooney. On the ball only mata is probably better too. He's the only one who is actually composed on the ball and manages to keep it under pressure.

No reason why Kagawa, Mata and Valencia cannot play in behind Welbeck.

Yeah, that someone will be kagawa, sadly. Welbeck up top, with kagawa, mata and Valencia on the right would have great balance for this game IMO. I love Rooney but he's shite against Everton every time, as he is coming back from an injury.

That would be great, only swap Nani with Valencia.

I am guessing it will be either Kagawa or Welbeck, even though neither of them deserve to be dropped. I think even starting Welbeck wide ahead of Kagawa would be unfair on both of them, Kagawa because he deserves to start, and Welbeck because I am not sure he likes playing on the wing either. I am his fan, and I would rather see him dropped than played wide.

Both legs? That's pushing it a bit. Like I said, you're talking bollocks if you begrudge either of them a start. I don't begrudge Kagawa a start, they all did well. You're the one having a breakdown at the thought of Valencia or Welbeck starting which leads me to think you don't recognise their performance level against Bayern.

Valencia in particular played good in that game because he worked his arse off tracking back against one of the best wingers in the world. Both of them were our only outlets of the very, very few attacks we had during the game in which we were pinned back in our own half defending for large remainders of the game. Lets not pretend they were putting in Messi-like performances against Bayern. They were the best of a bad bunch that night. This is no indication of how we will or ever should be setting up against vs Everton.

Nani? Let's be realistic here... That would make too much sense.

With welbeck, I'm not sure. I used to think he was useless out wide but lately he's improved there massively. Obviously better up front, but playing him wide alongside mata and kagawa I'd be okay with.

Doubt any of them will start really, all well behind in the pecking order, other then januzaj.

I thought with Rooney out it would be a good chance to get Chicha some game time, unless we have already accepted he will go in the summer.

Going forwards it was the best I've seen from Valencia in a long time. Valencia will probably be a very good option against Everton for the exact reasons that you have outlined. We all know that they like to overload that left hand side so I don't see how Valencia would be anything but a good option out there.

I thought Valencia was excellent against bayern, it's not that. Kagawa was just the best against bayern by far though (IMO), they just couldn't deal with him that game. Also in the first leg he was arguably our best player in the second half when we came on (or rather, best attacking player or player in the front 6 I should specify of course). Like I said, ideally we'd have a manager who can recognize they should all start, and not start Rooney because as good as he is, playing him away to Everton after coming back from injury will only end in shit. Just can't see that happen though and I just hope shinji isn't the one dropped.

Yeah, good point on Nani. We even play Young ahead of him.

I like him wide when we play more "midfielders" in the midfield, so he can play more attacking without just being used because of his defensive qualities, but when we use him as "defensive" winger he is usually quiet attacking wise and people criticise him for that and I hate seeing that.

Rooney got passed fit didn't he? I'd love to see them play I just can't see it, think both him and nani are guaranteed to leave this summer, sadly.

And Rooney is almost guaranteed to be crap since he's just come off an injury and is playing Everton.

I think how well we do will hinge largely on how well Mata plays - at least on the basis of the last couple of games. And Martinez is more than likely to have noticed that.

Nani hasn't really kicked a ball all season so starting him today wouldn't make much sense to me!
It's the end of the season with next to nothing to play for. How else is he supposed to get match fitness other then getting games now and then? You could use this excuse for anyone every time, and they'll never get the chance to get the kicks.

#mufc have won 30 out of 43 Premier League games against @Everton - Aston Villa (31) are the only side the Reds have beaten more often.

To be fair the last 5-6 years they have been a lot harder for us to beat.

Oh great, you had to do it. You do realise that moyes has been breaking all these records/stats for us these season right?

I'm not sure about Rooney, I've not been taking any notice of football this past week. Yeah, even if they do get on today I imagine they are gone in the summer regardless.

This. We're virtually guaranteed to lose now. David Moyes record breaker and all that.

Not really a record-breaker, it's not like we have dominated Everton a lot the last few seasons

I think getting a result today, is more important that getting Nani fit for the World Cup! but everyone has an opinion.

Personally i'd rather see Mata/Shinji/Januzaj/Welbeck get more minutes together rather than give Nani yet another chance...but you never know next season could be Nani's year! :D
