They have set up like this and pre-empted our tactics. That's why they are hitting us hard on the counter and playing direct. This Everton side under Martinez are flexible with their tactics depending on who they are playing. Something we are nowhere near yet.

Everton did that to us last year, even managed to completely outplay us and everything you could hear was 'Moyes's dinosaur tactics' ' he's killing football' etc.

I don't know why people are blaming Moyes for this, of all the times to criticise him this is not the time. We're missing our two first choice full backs against the best two in the league, the front four haven't played a single minute together before, and Rooney, Nani, Buttner, and Evans can be excused for being a bit rusty.

The back five is very young too, give them time ffs.

We were decent in patches, we had some decent spells of possession and some decent passing in midfield, but we did nothing with it and just overplayed it aimless in midfield and kept losing it because of wrong choice of pass or lack of movement. Once they worked this out they just sat back and hit us whenever we lost it in midfield.
Like someone pointed out, they weren't Villa or Newcastle, they can actually play a bit.

Teams have us figured out. Because we've been easy to figure out. Give us the sterile possession and hit us on the break down the flanks because we have dodgy full backs. This is just hard to watch.
