We played well, don't know what we have to do to win, all we're missing is goals, its a project, the teams not good enough, it was slightly dull today thought it might rain, the bus was 10 minutes late picking us up. Take your pick really.

We might as well throw Fellaini on now the hoofball prayer gambit.

Carrick in particular is selective in when he shows for the ball, because he doesn't always feel comfortable under pressure.

Contrast that to Scholes. Never did Scholes shy away from the ball, his one-touch stuff was always forward thinking, he could beat a man.
Whereas this just slows the whole team down.
All of our midfielders need three touches (and space that you don't get in the PL) to get the ball forward. Plus Neither can commit forward properly, in fear of being killed for pace going backwards.

Add even someone like Aaron Ramsey today, and the side functions so much better.

We absolutely dominated possession in the 1st half. Yet, our 4 attacking players couldnt break down the Everton defence, that doesnt have anything to do with Carrick and Fletch. And blaming Carrick and Fletch for lack of pace is just daft, one should know what to expect from the players you pick. If you want pace and mobility in CM, you dont pick Carrick and Fletch.

They offer nothing going forward and at the same time can't help protect us on the break. They serve no purpose.

Something about how great the fans were, how we played well but were unlucky, how we need to make it difficult for the next team we play and how we need to aspire to be like teams like Liverpool.

We havent been incisive enough when we have the ball. That's down to our tactics and our 4 outright attacking players,

We're basically like a shitter version of Arsenal from a few seasons ago. Pretty passes but nothing difficult to play against.
