Everton vs Manchester United

My error is really your error

Because you edited my posts for no apparant reason

I'm trying to wind up red devil canada

He's not playing ball

Both of you can stop it.

This isn't the place for you two to have petty squabbles. If you really must, then do that via pm or in the General, not here.

Please take it somewhere else.

Tell him off for starting the matchday thread too Early Hector

Tell him off for starting the matchday thread too Early Hector

I actually started it HOURS after the Sunderland game, usually the next match-day thread is up within seconds of the previous one has actually finished.

It's none of your business when the match-day thread should be up, people like to discuss the next match at any time and are looking forward to it, who are you to say when it should be up or not??

I honestly don't care who started what and when.

If he started it too early, then that's his choice. Posters have been doing that for a long time now, just just reddevilcanada. It's not my place to tell him when to create it or not, if other mods or admins have different feelings on the matter, then they will inform you of them.

All I am concerned with is the arguing between you two. It has now extended into two different threads in this forum, and it's extremely annoying to enter this thread and read about a pages worth of just childish comments aimed at each other.

I've written a warning in the other thread, but I'll make one here as well. I don't care if you two argue all day and night in the General, that's fine. However, doing it here is not allowed, and if you two continue to do this then we will have to stop it ourselves. I don't want to see anymore posts against each other here, thank you both.

This will be the start of three very tough fixtures all within a week.

We'll be playing Sporting Lisbon four days after this match and then Chelski another four days later. It's key that we don't lose focus and win this one and hopefully beat Chelski at OT hence going 1 point clear of the renties.

I expect Fergie to rest Hargreaves, or at least take him off in the second half if we're winning at Goodison comfortably, so that he's fresh for the tough match at Lisbon four days later.

Is Rooney going to get the scan on his foot today, so we can asses whether he'll be fit for Everton or not??

dont think SAF will risk him against Everton...at best he may be on the bench...

certain he will play against Chelsea...we'll need him..

yeah, it's quite unlikely he'll start this one, and if anything he'll come on as a substitute. Tevez should start along with Saha, time perhaps to open his account?

But even if Rooney makes the bench, it'll still be wonderful news.

just wait...Tevez and Saha up front....with Ronaldo whipping them in....

you'll forget the struggles we have had so far this season....

Is correct. I have deleted all of the posts relating to this squabbling and I'll delete this post tommorrow.

In an ideal world the matchday thread would start on the morning of a match or a little earlier possibly but I don't really think it matters that much.

Will be a tough game, plus Yakubu always seems to give Rio trouble. I'd go for:

---------------Van der Sar
Brown------Ferdinand----Vidic-----Evra
---------------Hargreaves
---------Scholes--------Carrick
----Ronaldo-------------------Tevez
-----------------Saha

Seems a little narrow, but with Hargreaves playing deep it should allow Evra to be a little adventurous and play as a winger to stretch Everton.

I doubt we'll see both Carrick and Hargreaves starting. Giggs will probably start after being well rested and play on the wing, and we'll go with the 4-4-2. Plus, we've got the CL game four days later, which will probably see Hargreaves get some rest and come off in the second half along with Giggs if we're in the 'comfort zone' to keep them fresh for that one.

True, although with the way we've been playing lately we might not find ourselves in a comfort zone.

You know what I hate? When the season starts and then almost straight away they have a break inbetween for a daft international, does my head in

Normally, I'd hate the international break too. But I'm glad we're not playing a Premiership game next week. It would've meant Rooney missing an extra game or two, and it would've meant less time for the likes of Saha, Tevez and Anderson to work on their sharpness in training.

I'm glad in that respect but thinking from the heart, I hate it when there is no football on and I'm not an England supporter. Hopefuly Rooney could be back sooner than expected and yeah, it gives the other lads time to recuperate

Hey, that Scholes is good isn't he, playing two places at once

I think everybody will agree that the key here is Saha. With him back we have a physical presence up front and Tevez doesn't have to do all the work by himself.

I have a bad feeling Tevez might be moved to the bench for this game though and Fergie will play Saha up front by himself withGiggs and Ronaldo supporting him. Tevez had no preseason and was thrown into the deep end early with Rooney's injury plus with the trip to Australia, I think Fergie might opt to give him a breather. Also with the CL starting we need all three strikers to be fit.

Everton have an industrious midifeld and we are lucky Cahill is still missing because he is key for them. Arteta is the danger man and I think if we stick Hagreaves on him then Everton's ability to cause us problems reduce dramatically. Also we haven't looked comfortable defending set-pieces and this was evident in the spurs match. Since that is one of Everton's strengths we need to be alert at corners and free-kicks. Johnson and Yakubu both love to get behind defenders and I wouldn't be suprised if Evra doesn't bomb forwardas much as he has because their pace can easily cause us problems on the counter.

One thing that has been different from last season is the way we start games. Last season we used to burst out of the gates guns blazing and almost always grab an early goal which settled the team down and allowed us more space to work with since opposition teams would have to come out of their shell. This season we seem to be playing with less urgency and the pressure builds up the longer we go without a goal.

Prediction: 2-0 United with Ronaldo and Hagreaves to get the goals.

Great post.

IMO carrick should play this match because not only his sensational passing will help us but we need tight midfielder against Everton.

It would be great to have back Rooney against them but I'd love to see Fergie playing with Hargo, Scholes and Carrick together in this match.

Finally, Yakubu is a great striker with his physical strength but I expect from Rio or Vidic to contain him.

iff all goes well , then tevez on for giggs and change places whit ronaldo , rest scholes whit carrick

I hate international breaks! My team:

Wes-----Rio----Vida---Evra
Ronaldo-Scholes-Carrick-Giggs
---Rooney-----Saha

If Rooney's not 100% fit, play Tevez. If Gary is ready, play him

This is exactly what I was going to post. Stop copying me.

Why is this kicking off at 12pm, yet isn't on either Sky or Setanta?

Is it not on either?! :( Looks like my Saturday morning will be used up searching for a stream
