Everton vs Manchester United

Always a toughy down at Goodison, think we might have to settle for a draw. 1-1

Everton seem to be playing their first team against Chelsea right now. Might play to our favor if it is a hard fought game.

120 minutes for Everton tonight. Always a bonus.

Drenthe misses the game too due to his red card.

Am i being thick. What was the Rooney/Everton valley incident?

Rooney's first match back at Goodison were it was very heated, think he even got a mobile phone chucked at him. The trouble at Everton Valley was some of the worst seen in ages.

There's probably a valid argument for not playing Rooney in this one, he may be our best player but he never plays well in this fixture and only has 2 goals against Everton since moving to United and I'm always a keen follower of picking players who have good records against certain teams/on certain grounds so maybe Berbatov should start this one?

Park must play.

De Gea
Jones Smalling Vidic Evra
Nani Anderson Carrick Park
Berbatov
Chicharito

I know everton played last night, but dont expect them to be an easy opposition on Sat.
Moyes, more often than not, gets his players ready for the big game. Even if they lose, they rarely make it easy for the opposition.

The strikers better be up for this. I have lost faith in our ability to keep a clean sheet

Saha will be a handful. what a player that lad is when fit. Remember reading Rio's interview where he said that Saha was a master at making deceptive runs and in general play, the best striker he's had to defend against. I hope vida's back at his best because we're gonna need him at the back.

still think we'l win this. the players will be at their 200% after what happened last week.

So important to get 3 points and bounce back.

DDG
Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Fabio
Nani, Anderson, Carrick, Young
Berbatov, Rooney

Tom Cleverley must play. Man Utd must win. End.

That gent who was on about watching this game on Xbox this Saturday - can you please give us more info, I've got a few people from the Newbies interested as well.

Cheers :)

That was I. Someone said that the match will be broadcast on ESPN3, in which case you could pull up ESPN3 on XBOX live if you download the free ESPN application. The schedule however says that they are showing the Chelsea-Arsenal match.

Three points away to a team like Everton is a good result. I didn't know this wasn't on TV, any reason given for it not being shown?

Tell me, are there teams against which three points is not a good result?

I expect we'll start well, play well in the first 20 minutes or so, possibly take the lead then fade as our vulnerable two-man midfield will be overrun again after their extreme initial effort. Struggling 1-1 draw in the end.

We're at our best when weve got something to prove. Hopefully the start of a great run of form with 12 winnable games on the horizon.

2-1 United, Rooney and Young off the bench.

Have you watched a game on ESPN3? Is the quality usually pretty good?

livesoccertv does not even have ESPN3 listed. Down as ESPN Deportes. Worried! this could be the end of a very long spell for me. I haven't missed a regular season game on TV in probably a decade.

Hopefully just a typo and FSC or FSC+ actually has it.

Ace you cocktease, please elaborate on the Xbox Live viewing thing for us unenlightened ones :)

Managed to get a ticket sorted now for this one, bring on Saturday!

The team I want to see:

--------------Lindegaard--------------
---Smalling----Jones---Vidic---Fabio---
---Nani---Cleverley----Anderson--Young
----------Berbatov-----Rooney---------

The mail has suggested we'll leave Rio and Evra behind.

With Evans suspended and Rafael still not available, we only have six fit defenders. Fergie might be able to leave Rio and Evra out of the team, but surely not the squad. Personally, I think Fergie will go with Rio and Vidic in the middle, and I think we need Evra's experience at Goodison as well, especially as the only alternative is Fabio, as opposed to Evans.

Very hard fixture for us in recent times. They seem to really charged when they play and get quite stuck in. We need our midfield (including wingers) to perform and not get overrun by their energy and numbers in the middle. Needless to say defence needs to get their shit together.

I think we have to play Rio, with Saha actually fit and in good form you need Rios pace and reading to help keep him at bay, yeah i know Rios been poor of late but you have to trust his experience and hope he gets his head screwed on, with Vida alongside him i'd hope they can finally rekindle something. No Evra for me though, he's had a poor year and a big head should roll after last week even if its only a token gesture. I'd also plump for giggs' experience on the left to help out Fabio
