Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

They find it hard to believe that Suarez has been found guilty by the FA based on Evra's word and Suarez's own admission that he's used the word negrito/whatever, but at the same time they can be sure that he is innocent because what, he plays for them? Because he once said "I didn't do it, la", or what?

That statement is so ill-judged and retarded that I don't know what to say  Hope they get in all sorts of legal shit for this. Then Evra can use the libel money to paint a big fecking 19 on his motor.

The very worst thing about all this for me, is the way the club have "officially" sanctioned the vilification of Evra, which is disgraceful, completely unprofessional and irresponsible. This case was always based on the idea of a misunderstanding. No one genuinely believes Evra made it all up vindictively.

Rather than just supporting their player, they've attacked the person doing the accusing, both at a stroke undermining the accusation of racial abuse (which might make others who are abused think twice about speaking out) and fanning the flames of not just their own most militant fans, but United's in defence, turning this concretely into a "take sides club war"....

Really awful bit of ill thought out victim mentality bollocks IMO. And I've never gone in for the "scousers are mawkish victim complex riddled mentalists" schtick (and I still don't) but this really is an awful and irresponsible thing to come "officially" out of a club.

Agree with all this except the bold, every Liverpool fan I've ever met, without exception, has been a professional victim. I honestly don't recall having met a 'reasonable' one.

Why's Kenny moaning, these are his words aren't they?

"Whoever is the guilty party – the person who said it or the accuser – [should] get their due punishment"

I think that is taking it a bit too far. Liverpool seem to have a large group of horrible fans who are blind to all that happens, but I'm sure there are plenty of knowledgeable Liverpool fans out there as well, somewhere. Even if there aren't many, there are some.

They definitely are out there and I can tell you know, they're very upset by what's being spouted by fellow fans. Not all liverpool fans are distasteful but we've definitely seen the ones that have chosen to show their true colors.

Thank God or whoever's in charge that we've got a decent manager like Frogie, and also that he didn't take a flamethrower to the team after that Basel defeat like some wanted him to...

Reluctantly I agree, even the Oirish ones over here are a bit different to fans of other clubs. Which is weird.

As oppose to a granny-shagging, whore-riding cheater, or somebody who rode their brothers wife for ten years?

I agree Suarez is an arsehole but lets be consistent here :).

To be fair though... shagging, shagging and shagging there. Who somebody shags is a matter for them and their partners.

Racism and cannibalism are genuinely a different ball-park.

Don't give a toss about the hand-ball mind.

I fail to see what any of that has to do with Suarez being a proven racist ?

What Rooney and Giggs did was not on the football pitch and directed at one player colour of his skin.

Now I am not say what either of them did was right , but it broke no rules and was in there private life.

Great quote from RAWK

"If it were up to me (and I wish it was), I'd pull all of our players out of any England squad, and boycott the FA cup. fecking disgraceful decision.".

Oh no please don't get rid of Carroll,Johnson and Downing we might not win the Euros.

What would be even funnier would be if they banned the players for refusing to partake in international games. Every game that a player refuses (remember that international retirement is just a gentleman's agreement between the player and the manager of the national team) to partake in for the national team could lead to a two game ban domestically.

Thank God or whoever's in charge that we've got a decent manager like Frogie, and also that he didn't take a flamethrower to the team after that Basel defeat like some wanted him to...
Frogie

Always gets me.

To be fair I don't see why you need to bring player's personal lives into this, I mean what are you an OK magazine reader? All of that stuff is irrelevant to football.

What is relevant to football however is diving, cheating and being abusive and racist to someone. This is what Suarez is about.

They certainly are. I'm arguing with one at the moment who 'can't believe how bent the FA are and even if he was guilty he should have only got 4 games'.

The seriousness of it just seems to fly right over their head.

I've noticed that too. It's very strange. Probably a residue from so much success followed by being nearly men for the next couple of decades. I think that's what fuels their bizarre combination of bravado, self-pity and persecutory complexes.

I agree.

We play up their fans throwing poo etc, but we all know full-well that incidents like that are a small minority.

Most Liverpool fans you meet tend to be deluded whingers, but essentially decent people. It's very sad to see so many on Twitter, and pretty much a unanimous voice on their biggest forum, casting their principles aside like this.

I've got about 3 dippers who I'd count as genuine friends, as opposed to acquaintances. I'm avoiding talking to them about this in case they take the official club line, and I lose respect for them / end up calling them out on it and screwing up a friendship.

Wise. One of my closest mates is a casual dipper fan, but not avid enough to have followed this case I don't think.

I have lost some respect for Liverpool as a club over this though, I think they're better than to have behaved how they have.

I'm secretly loving this actually. Dalglish and his cronies were warned how to behave in the face of the most serious charges of football racism in this country in 10-15 years.

Instead, trying to protect their own interests, they indulged in what can only be described as a disgusting propaganda war, with no regard for the seriousness of the charge and the vested interest of their club.

We, as a club, sat down, done what we're told and acted in accordance of what requested.

Liverpool have been horribly advised throughout and the deeper they dig the worse it looks for the more respected members of their hierarchy.

Oh hold the show everybody! They have all at the same time managed to jump on a tweet for Mario Balotelli claiming all Man Utd players are racist.

This proves Suarez innocence somehow.

At least soon they'll be able to say Gerrard won Sky Sports' readers poll as to who the greatest player in PL history is.

Not all bad, then.

Long term I'm not sure it is in their own interests.

Wonder what the journos will make of Liverpool FC's official reaction - start pasting the articles ASAP people!

My mate Eddie is a Liverpool fan. If Liverpool win, he's all: "Face it, Steve - Liverpool are kings & United are sh*t!"; if they lose: "F*ck me, Steve - we're f*cking sh*t, the f*cking useless b*stards...they want f*cking shooting etc etc f*cking etc."

I don't know man, I'm just getting this off my Facebook wall. It'll be funny when we all find out the account is probably fake.

I am very pleased for Paddy, although I don't suppose he has particularly enjoyed all the abuse he has been getting for having the temerity to tell the truth. I reaaallllllyyy can't understand Liverpool's attitude. When the club statement appeared on here earlier, I genuinely assumed it was some kind of joke; that some over-emtional idiot had somehow managed to attach it to their site. But, no - they have actually put the official club seal on the most pathetic, childish rant imaginable. The sense of outrage is of the type you can understand being inspired someone truly legendary, an honest, gentlemanly, fair-minded, committed, honourable player - a fifties throwback. Why anyone involved in football would look at a character like Suarez and find him deserving of such unreserved, Michael-Jackson-hysteria style mindless support is just utterly bizarre. It feels more like April fool's day than Christmas. Mind you, it's a nice early present for football in general; it's so rare to see low lifes actually getting theirs.

The posters on RAWK are furious about this tweet

To be fair, that just sounds like... about 90% of football fans.:smirk:

I just listened to talk sports Graham 'Beaky' Beacroft saying "Liverpool will surely look at the way the panel has been set up because in a court of law they have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Evra was telling the truth and given his trak record of being shown to lie about the stamford bridge episode then this could be used by Liverpool." am I missing something here but Evra was not proved to be lying at stamford bridge but the groundsman got of on a technicality being Mike Phelan got the timing of events the mixed up?

My God. They haven't even seen the tweet that they are all quoting but 'it's going around the web so it must be true'

" The FA are willing to ban someone based on one persons claim, with no video evidence? In that case, the whole Man Utd squad racially abused me"

That's what they are all putting as there Facebook statuses.

Unbelievable.

On the practical side of things, Liverpool are going to bloody miss his presence over 8 games. If the other teams around them were a bit stronger they could easily snatch the 6th spot from Liverpool.

I wonder if Carroll is rubbing his hands with glee at this chance or sweating in fear.

This just in: Liverpool have submitted an appeal, but unfortunately it hit the woodwork.

No good condemning racist language in abstract if we are not prepared to act when confronted by the reality of it.

I have nothing but respect for LFC as a club and I think Suarez is a fantastic player but I totally support the FA's decision

Can understand #LFC putting out statement if they believe Suarez is innocent. Fair enough. But *that* statement? Dearie me . .

That #lfc statement is a little bit Father Ted, sadly. Surprised it doesn't have subliminal adverts on the side flashing "not a racist".

Statement from @kickitout : 'FA has demonstrated it will not stand for discrimination, something FIFA and UEFA should take heed of'

BenHibbs Ben Hibbs
Liverpool's statement is full of comical nuggets, contradictions and utterly backward reasoning. Real classy

The cnut obviously thought Suarez would get off with it.

What's essentially going to happen now is that he's going to get inundated with annoying questions from reporters for the next couple of weeks brought on himself by his own stupidity and he'll probably lap it up.

He's firing loose cannons at the mo. It will just bring more attention to a club aiming for 4th without their best player. Would you really want to waste energy on that? Like I said before he'd be better off to keep quiet and deal with things behind the scenes. Fleet St have already started with the article from the guardian stating how persistent he was to defend Suarez.

Complete idiot.
