Evra accuses Suarez of racist remarks | Suarez guilty of racial abuse

No problem, chief. :)

It's funny how so many Liverpool fans are calling for these fans to be banned for life based on an accusation, yet when Suarez is accused of, and proven guilty of racial abuse, it's all about how a man is innocent until proven guilty in the criminal courts

Yeah, I can imagine in their logic, that if they show how much they hate racism against their fans - then the outside world must think: "Hang on lads, look how much they hate racism - perhaps we should all apologise to Suarez then"

So, so transparent.

Sad thing is, the actual genuine fans of the club are being tarnished with the same brush. I do think we need to be careful about that but the problem is the club has been quite embarrassing throughout. The "fans" who have taken to twitter to defend Suarez by being racist themselves are just vile and as its been said a lot, this should never have been United vs Liverpool as it seems to be painted by Liverpool themselves. Its a shame really that this is happening in English football in this day and age.

Unfortunately, if it's the same charge as Terry faces - the worst that he can expect is a £2,500 fine. Disgrace.

The difference is Terry doesn't have to worry about disclosing a criminal prosecution for racist abuse on any future job applications. That cock socket does.

There's nothing in that, Judge Red. He's just fixing his top.

Maybe not indulging in monkey chants but he does look like he's about to shout something.

What is apparent is the Asian supporter to the left.I wonder what he thought of the whole affair?

 that they break into the Luis Suarez song straight after it....I'm sure it's pretty innocuous (people will just happily join in a chant without thinking about it) but that's just so hilariously crass/unfortunate/perfect, whatever way you want to look at it.

Just seen a video of the incident last night. I can't believe the Liverpool fans started singing Suarez songs when they realised what was going on. Disgusting football club.

What I don't understand is why no one was arrested. If someone had of shouted the same thing on the street, the person(s) would have been arrested straight away.

Finger's crossed Merseyside police will not do the blind eye trick...no evidence/proof/witnesses/ errr can't tell which fan shouted it blah blah blah.

On reflection that's just what Merseyside police might well do...sorry if that winds people up it's just I don't have much faith in the investigation/prosecution process.

.

Tbf, I imagine it is pretty hard to conclusively pinpoint the individual shouting the abuse unless all of the fans around him provide evidence, which is probably unlikely as they may well be mates.

I really hate to think the person(s) responsible may get away with it.

Re the Suarez songs beginning once they realised what was going on...I think it illustrates a more serious issue, the 'We're racists and we don't care' approach, which truly is repugnant.

I think they were signing it before it started as well. As in they were signing it, the incident happened then it continued, started again.

Its reasonable to assume fans at the stadium may not have known what exactly was going on right away. Even the commentators had no idea.

I saw a Liverpool fan say on Twitter that the Suarez song was being sung (along with "one lying bastard"), and that when most people assumed he was reacting to the song they started belting it out twice as loud.

agreed but its not hard to see that there is a player, who happens to be a black man, on the opposing team who is upset over something and is confronting the supporters. its hard to understand why his actions were met with the suarez song. the more you think about it the more uncomfortable the feeling that the crowd chose the suarez song at that time. like singing in support of suarez was the correct response to what they were looking at.

in the youtube clip I saw the suarez song starts after the lad starts to get visibly upset

At least one of them isn't having it:

That's a helluva subs bench. Knew they'd bought too many midfielders.

What a disgusting football club, Im sickened with these bastards I truly am!

I don´t think Liverpool FC has any more racism in their fanbase than the average PL club. They probably have less than most to be fair.

They do have a ´tired and emotional´ manager who has put the clubs reputation in a bad place though.
