Massive blunder by Max there.
Massive blunder by Max there.
I was not introduced to F1 just yet!Damon Hill always came across as humble to me (I was young at the time though).
so Max starts on softs, should make turn 1 interesting with Lewis on mediums, but no way was that the plan by Red Bull.
Red Bull forced to throw the dice.so Max starts on softs, should make turn 1 interesting with Lewis on mediums, but no way was that the plan by Red Bull.
I would say one stop yes.Crofty making out that this was their plan all along
What do RB do tomorrow now? Softs to start and 1 stop onto hards?
You’d think Merc will be running longer in that first stint and therefore have better tyres at the end
RB have essentially already taken the 1st pit stop undercut with this choice, because if Mercedes tries to pit earlier than RB it negates their tyre advantage.Crofty making out that this was their plan all along

I dont think it was, Max clearly was not happy flat spotting his race set.I think It was their plan all along. They would always leave it to the last with it looking like he’d back out as always if they were going to do it. Button called it in FP3. Max has to get on the front of the grid for this to work.
Max is probabky confident... fresh tyres won't help much with a brake check
Horner just said it was always 50-50 and the flat spot just decided it.I dont think it was, Max clearly was not happy flat spotting his race set.
Yeah heard that alsoHorner just said it was always 50-50 and the flat spot just decided it.
Surely not being on pole isn’t that bad for Lewis? Max will be rapid on the softs so you’ll be struggling to keep him behind either way. Lightning lap though from Red Bull.
I think if he is P2 to start, and P2 after the start/first lap, then he won't undercut because it would negate the advantage of the Med vs Soft... that leaves it to either RB to do a 2 stop and be on fresher tyres but chasing Hamilton at the end, or the other way around with Hamilton chasing down Verstappen on fresher tyres if both teams go for just 1 stop.I think with the soft v medium situation, Hamilton isn’t as impacted by being in P2.
Yeah will be interesting if he’s any quicker here. Not the end of the world I don’t think.
Hamilton gave up a lot on that T4 lock up.
