Not reallyVerstappen only has Dutch fans, suuuuure. Outside the UK most people were rooting for Max.
Not really
Making statements you have zero evidence to backup? That’s most unlike you.Hmm yes really.
That pertains to both 'sides' though.Making statements you have zero evidence to backup? That’s most unlike you.
Most Max fans are Dutch and have only got in to F1 recently and haven’t a clue what they’re talking about, ignorance.
The Dutch F1 fans are blinded by their chauvinism. There’s no point arguing with ignorance, just ignore them
And there's a great deal of english fans that are new to f1 as well because of Lewis and drive to survive. A significant amount who know 3/5's of feck all about motor racing except for what biased english commentators feed to them through sky.
How many times do you hear Brundle almost catch himself because he's not following the sky script? It is starting to get ridiculous and it may explain why he's attending less and less races.
James Allen was horrendous at times, but he'd be perfect for sky commentating.

Justice! I take it alonso and Lewis’s relationship is still quite frosty
Don't think it's anything to do with frostiness, all the drivers know Max should have been about 60 points ahead going into Brazil, with all bad luck equalised.
One of those is not like the others but I agree with your general point. Hated, adored but never ignored. Not sure what’s there to learn from what the other drivers or teams think about Hamilton or Mercedes. Sporting history is full of athletes/teams who win a lot being the most hated ones & everyone wishing for their downfall. United , Patriots, Lakers, Warriors etc all had the rest of their competitors secretly wishing for them to fail

Cause they didn't win enough to be truly hated. They really only got hate when they had Durant and felt too OP and even then most of the hate went to KD .Agreed. Warriors were always very likeable
Stop cryingLewis had the lead and 3.6 miles to win ….and he lost.
Fair play to Lewis, he took the loss well and we go again next season.
At least them I can sort of understand. It's their first WDC winner, I'm sure I'd be proud and happy too.
And the one thing I have to keep reminding myself: It was Masi and FIA who fecked over Hamilton and decided the wdc. Not Max. He took the chances presented to him, something any racer worth their salt would do. I had disliked some of his antics before but it really isn't his fault.
It's the redbull fanboys which I completely detest.

If the rules had been followed in the last race no way would Max been champ
Of course we'll never know. Hamilton was faster off the line on mediums vs Max on softs. We can only speculate what would have happened with both on fresh softs. In my opinion, even in this scenario, Max only wins if Hamilton forgets to turn off the magic button. If the race had been red flagged as it should have they would have lined up next to each other on fresh tyres with 3 laps to fight it out. Every chance he wins on soft tyres and low fuel.
If the lapped cars had all been allowed to overtake faster then it'd be the same result.

Wrong amd wrong. Most Max fans are Dutch and have only got in to F1 recently and haven’t a clue what they’re talking about, ignorance.

Also second part is totally true on this forum if u switch Max with Hamilton and Dutch with British.

Wasting Ur (M)timeA red flag wasn’t an option in the circumstances of this incident. Given the time it took to clear the track, the only options were finishing under the safety car or having a last lap race without the lapped cars between Max and Lewis being conveniently cleared out of Max’s way. You can be happy Max won (or Lewis didn’t if that’s your angle) but just accept that outcome only occurred because of a clear break of the rules by Masi.
Meh. They all knew it was in the interest of the sport to handle it maturely. Damage management. One thing that's become clear is how maturely everybody from the two teams has handled themselves in the aftermath. Lewis, Max, both sets of parents, Toto Wolff.

This is my big issue with Mercedes dropping the appeal: the tone of Masi's radio comms at the end of the race ("its called a motor race Toto") coupled with the FIA stating its the argument that tarnished the championship and not their own actions. They're going to sweep this under the rug and taking them to court was the only realistic way to hold them to account. An argument that is currently tarnishing the image of the Championship

Yep. It stinks.Interesting take on Missed Apex's review of the season regarding the appeal and the FIA. The latest statement from the FIA included the line:

Spa-Francorchamps' planned €80 million facelift is now in full swing, with new pictures released by the Belgian circuit showing the extent of the facility's transformation.
Spa's plan to apply for an FIM Grade C licence to welcome motorcycle racing back to its track has compelled the venue to undertake a series of extensive modifications to the run-off areas of several corners where gravel traps will be installed.
But the renovation project also includes include a significant upgrade of the track's infrastructure, with new spectator facilities being gradually added in the future.
The remodeled series of grandstands and VIP areas will increase the track's seating capacity by 13,000 seats, or double the venue's current permanent seating capacity.
